  • Publication number: 20070151107
Abstract: A safety razor apparatus having a blade assembly (2) comprising two guiding members (9,10), each having a surface for abutting against the skin, and one or more blades (11,12,13) located between said two guiding members (9,10), wherein the cutting edge (14) of each blade (11,12,13) and said surfaces are positioned substantially in one plane. The apparatus has a grip portion (1) being pivotal relative to said blade assembly (2) about a pivot axis (8), wherein the pivot axis (8) is positioned parallel to said cutting edge (14). A location of said pivot axis (8) is adjustable with respect to said blade assembly (2).

  • Publication number: 20070151106
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1) for shaving hairs growing from skin (27). The device comprises a base portion (3) having a grip (5). The device further comprises a shaving head (7) which carries at least one cutting member (9, 11) having at least one cutting edge (13, 15). The device has an actuator (35) for effecting a periodical motion (P) of the cutting member relative to the base portion in order to improve the cutting action of the cutting member. According to the invention, the shaving head (7) is pivotable relative to the base portion (3) about a pivot axis (25), and the periodical motion (P) of the cutting member (9, 11) is a periodical motion relative to the shaving head. As a result, the position and orientation of the shaving head relative to the skin (27) are less dependent on the manner in which the user holds the device (1) in his hand and positions the device relative to the skin.

  • Publication number: 20070151108
Abstract: A safety razor apparatus having a blade assembly (2) comprising two guiding members (9, 10), each having a surface for abutting against a skin, and one or more blades (11, 12, 13) being located between said two guiding members (9, 10). The cutting edge (14) of each blade (11, 12, 13) and said surfaces are positioned substantially in one plane (20). The apparatus has a grip portion (1) being connected to said blade assembly (2). The position of at least one of the two guiding members (9, 10) is adjustable in a direction perpendicular to said plane (20).

  • Publication number: 20050252005
Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1) for shaving hair (93) and to a shaving head (9) used therein. The shaving head (9) has at least one cutting member (17, 19) having a cutting edge (23) and a cutting direction (X), and the device has an actuator (29) for effecting a periodical motion of said cutting member relative to a base portion (3) of the device. According to the invention said periodical motion is effected in an imaginary plane which extends transversely to the cutting edge (23) and which has a first motion portion (89) and a second motion portion (91) following the first motion portion. The first motion portion is mainly directed in the cutting direction (X), and the second motion portion is mainly directed opposite to the cutting direction and is closer to the skin (93) than the first motion portion. Said periodical motion results in a reduced risk of skin irritations and skin injuries and provides a smooth shaving result.

  • Patent number: 5444914
Abstract: A shaving apparatus has at least one shaving unit (2) which comprises an external shaving member (3) and an internal shaving member (4) which is rotatable relative to the external shaving member, the external shaving member having an annular wall portion (5) with lamellae (7) which extend in substantially radial directions and between which hair-entry apertures (8) are formed, the internal shaving member comprising cutters (10) which describe a path adjoining the inner side (12) of the annular wall portion (5) of the external shaving member (4). In order to obtain a closer shave without an increased risk of injury to the skin the shaving apparatus is characterized in that the cutters (10) together form one undulating continuous ring-shaped cutter body covering all the hair-entry apertures (8).
