Abstract: A system and method for connecting virtual space entities are disclosed. Information regarding virtual space entities may be obtained. The obtained information may include information indicating one or more actions and/or effects associated with the virtual space entities. The associated effects may indicate the associated actions may be caused in the virtual space by actions of other virtual space entities. Users may be enabled to specify action connections between actions of different virtual space entities. The user specified action connections may provide causal relationships between a first action and a first effect associated with a second action. Occurrence of the first action within a given instance of virtual space may be determined. Based on the user specified action connections, the first effect may be executed to cause the second action to be performed in the virtual space.

Abstract: This disclosure relates to a system configured to customize a default set of menu items for diners of a food service establishment. The default set of menu items may be customized based on dietary preferences of the diners. The system may be configured such that diners may interact with the menu of the food service establishment. The system may be configured such that the customized set of menu items may be displayed to diners remotely from the food service establishment. In some implementations, the system may replace a traditional physical menu. In some implementations, the system may comprise an application server, one or more client devices, a database server, and/or other components.

Abstract: Exemplary implementations may facilitate effectuating modifications within an instance of a virtual space presented via multiple disparate client computing platforms responsive to detection of a token associated with a single client computing platform. In some implementations, tokens may be detected based on signals received from token readers associated with individual ones of the multiple client computing platforms. A given token may be a standalone physical object. The given token may be detectable based on a signal conveying information associated with the given token. Objects may be relocated during interactive gameplay. A navigation map of the virtual space is updated interactively, e.g. after an object has been relocated, by determining which regions are traversable or non-traversable, the boundaries of these regions, and which boundaries separate adjacent traversable regions. The updated navigation map may be queried on behalf of a non-player character in the virtual space, e.g. to determine where to go and/or how to get there.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for evaluating a chat message sent between users of an online environment. The method may include associating each word in the chat message with metadata. The metadata identifies a word type and usage for each word in the chat message. This method may also include identifying one or more safety rules associated with the metadata. Each safety rule identifies an ordered sequence of one or more sets of words. This method may also include applying the safety rule to the chat message to determine whether a sequence of words in the chat message present in the ordered sequence of sets of words. Upon determining a word, from each set of words in the ordered sequence of sets of words, matches a respective one of the words in the chat message, the chat message is blocked from being sent to a message recipient.

Abstract: A system for flock-based control of a plurality of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The system includes UAVs each including a processor executing a local control module and memory accessible by the processor for use by the local control module. The system includes a ground station system with a processor executing a fleet manager module and with memory storing a different flight plan for each of the UAVs. The flight plans are stored on the UAVs, and, during flight operations, each of the local control modules independently controls the corresponding UAV to execute its flight plan without ongoing control from the fleet manager module. The fleet manager module is operable to initiate flight operations by concurrently triggering initiation of the flight plans by the multiple UAVs. Further, the local control modules monitor front and back and communication channels and, when a channel is lost, operate the UAV in a safe mode.

A grid may be constructed in a world space to provide positions that facilitate the rendering of the virtual surface. The grid may be constructed by intersecting circular lines and radial lines. The distance of circular lines with respect to one another may be determined by intersecting tessellation level and binary tree. Motion caused by a viewpoint transformation may be compensated by adjusting the grid. Rotational change of the viewpoint may compensated by rotating the grid according a degree of grid edge. Translational change of the viewpoint may be compensated by moving or rotating the grid in a direction opposite to the translational change.

Abstract: An enhanced system and method presents a view of a virtual space on a display based on a position of the display in one or more degrees of freedom. For such a position of the display, a corresponding field of view in the virtual space may be determined. In some examples, as the display rotates about an axis that runs perpendicular to the display through a centroid of the display, the view of the virtual space may shift such that the field of view varies dynamically with the rotational position of the display and the objects in the field of view are maintained fixed in the virtual space. In some implementations, an object of the virtual space may be controlled by the position change of the display in the degrees of freedom such that the objects may be steered according to the display's position in the degrees of freedom.

Abstract: A computer graphic editing or modeling system that automatically alters a computer graphic object based on a user sketch. The computer graphic object may be presented as an image space view of the object (proxy). The sketch is placed in proximity to some feature of the image space view. The system matches the sketch with the feature taking into account silhouettes, which may be derived by way of depth continuity and depth gradient similarity, of the object and matching the silhouette with the feature based on proximity and shape. The matched handle silhouette is transformed to associated handle vertices of a mesh of the graphic object. The system may then deform the mesh based on the user sketch by obtaining a dimensional relationship between the user sketch and the associated silhouette and applying the dimensional relationship to a region of interest, which includes the handle vertices.
