  • Patent number: 10606763
Abstract: Methods and systems for selective encryption and secured extent quota management for storage servers in cloud computing are provided. A method includes associating at least one secure storage disk and at least one non-secure storage disk to a virtual disk, and associating the virtual disk to an application to allow access of the at least one secure storage disk and the at least one non-secure storage disk. The method further includes accessing the at least one secure storage disk and the at least one non-secure storage disk based on the associating of the virtual disk to the application, to write or read confidential and non-confidential data associated with the application into a respective one of the at least one secure storage disk and the at least one non-secure storage disk.

  • Patent number: 9311501
Abstract: Provided are a computer program product, system, and method for using different secure erase algorithms to erase chunks from a file associated with different security levels. A request is received to secure erase a file having a plurality of chunks stored in at least one storage device. A determination is made of a first secure erase algorithm to apply to a first chunk in the file in response to the request and of a second secure erase algorithm to apply to a second chunk in the file in response to the request. The first secure erase algorithm is applied to erase the first chunk and the second secure erase algorithm is applied to erase the second chunk. The first and second secure erase algorithms use different processes to erase the chunks to which they are applied.

  • Patent number: 8973018
Abstract: A mechanism is provided for relaying events from a storage controller to a host server. Responsive to identifying an event occurring within a storage device, a notification is sent to a device server in the host server with which the event is associated. A server virtual disk is identified using a unique identification of the server virtual disk. Responsive to identifying the server virtual disk, at least one device executing an application on the host server is notified of an impending degradation in a mode of operation.

  • Publication number: 20140115029
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transferring a file from a server to a client in sections is disclosed. In one embodiment, a method includes a server receiving a request from a client for a file. The file has a first section and second section. Each section, respectively, has a first security level and a second security level. A determination of a security protocol for transmission of each file section is determined using classification information and a template. The file sections are transmitted over a channel between the server and the client using the respective first security protocol and second security protocol.
