  • Publication number: 20150084433
Abstract: A standalone power cord to control an electrical appliance for home automation includes a first electrical connector at one end of the standalone power cord. The first electrical connector connects the standalone power cord to a power source. The standalone power cord includes a second electrical connector at other end of the standalone power cord. The second electrical connector connects the standalone power cord to an electrical appliance. Further, the standalone power cord includes a smart control module to control the electrical appliance. The smart control module includes a smart link interface compliant-power cable (SLIC-P) and a smart link interface compliant-socket (SLIC-C). The SLIC-P enables switching ON and switching OFF the electrical appliance. The SLIC-C enables the stand alone power cord to fine-control one or more parameters of the electronic appliance.

  • Patent number: 8401660
Abstract: Polling mechanism in a medical implant based system. A method for operating a receiver includes searching for a signal by a receiver. The method further includes entering into an inactive state for a predefined time interval, if the signal is not detected. The method also includes altering at least one of sensitivity and the predefined time interval if number of times the searching is performed without detecting the signal exceeds a threshold. Moreover, the method includes searching for the signal with at least one of altered sensitivity and altered predefined time when the receiver enters into an active state.

  • Patent number: 8306003
Abstract: A wireless device in a wireless network transmits a data frame even in the presence of in-band interference (from transmission of other devices) on a shared channel provided in the wireless network. In an embodiment, configuration data is provided to the wireless device indicating whether frames be transmitted (stomped) or not in the presence of such inband interference. If the configuration data indicates that the wireless device transmit in the presence of in-band interference, the wireless device transmits a frame if the transmitter of the interfering communication is determined to be from a different basic service set (BSS).

  • Publication number: 20120106602
Abstract: Signaling in a medical implant based system. A method includes transmitting bits modulated with a predefined sequence in a band of channels by a first medical transceiver. The method includes transmitting bits modulated with a first predefined sequence of a plurality of predefined sequences by a first medical transceiver. The first predefined sequence is detected by a second medical transceiver when the second medical transceiver enters into an active state. A predetermined action is preformed if the first predefined sequence is detected.

  • Publication number: 20100036508
Abstract: Enabling non-interoperability among transceivers of devices. A method includes transmitting a signal at a predefined symbol rate by a first transceiver of a first device of a first plurality of devices. The predefined symbol rate is unique for each transceiver of each device of the first plurality of devices. The method also includes detecting the signal by a second transceiver of a second device of a second plurality of devices. The second transceiver has a symbol rate similar to the predefined symbol rate.

  • Publication number: 20070223525
Abstract: A wireless device containing a physical layer (in a transceiver) which generates multiple status signals indicating the status of the wireless medium at different time instances. The status signals are examined to determine a time instance after which the medium is available to transmit the packets. In an embodiment, one status signal indicates whether valid preamble bits are being received on (before end of the preamble) the wireless medium consistent with the 802.11a standard and another status signal indicates similar status but for 802.11b standard. The embodiment further includes a qualification logic, which determines a time instance after which the availability of medium is determined.
