  • Patent number: 9375643
Abstract: A computer implemented method of presenting pre-show content to movie theater audiences includes receiving requests from an exhibitor, each request identifying a feature presentation, a feature presentation start time, and the length of a pre-show session preceding the feature presentation. At least one multiplayer game for each pre-show session is selected automatically based on at least one of an audience maturity rating of the feature presentation, a genre of the feature presentation, and the availability of other players attending at least one other feature presentation hosted by the same exhibitor at the same or a different location, and/or a different exhibitor at a different location. Optionally, the list of selected games is presented to one or more audiences for voting. Where a game to be played by members of different audiences is scheduled for the same time slot, a single instantiation of the game is presented to the multiple audiences.

  • Patent number: 9374529
Abstract: A user activation of an image capture function of a mobile device is received. The image capture function is for a surround image mode. Two or more camera LENSs are approximately concurrently activated. Responsive to activating the LENSs, two or more front-side images from a first camera LENS and two or more rear-side image from a second camera LENS are optically captured. Content from the front-side images and content from the rear-side images are recorded in a non-transitory storage medium of the mobile device within a single file for a surround mode image.

  • Patent number: 9357116
Abstract: A rectangular image sensor can be present within an optical capture device. Two lenses can capture and direct light from a real world environment upon the image sensor. Two reflectors can each be positioned between one of the two lenses and the sensor to direct light captured by each lens to produce a corresponding image circle on the sensor. The circles can be produced by the two lenses onto the sensor can be non-overlapping in area. A non-reflective separator can be positioned between the optical pathways of light from the two lenses from the time such light is reflected from the two reflectors respectively. The separator can absorb light from a region surrounding the image circle to prevent optical distortions from the image circles which are in close proximity to each other.

  • Patent number: 9251603
Abstract: A panoramic video of a real world event can be received. The video can include perspective data linked with a video timeline. A perspective view associated with a graphics of a video game linked with a game timeline at a first time index can be determined. The perspective data of the panoramic video can be processed to obtain a video sequence matching the perspective view associated with the graphics at a second time index. The video timeline and the game timeline can be synchronized based on a common time index of each of the timelines. The graphics and the video sequence can be integrated into an interactive content, responsive to the synchronizing.

  • Patent number: 9219860
Abstract: A fixed surround imaging component (SiC) can capture a field of view (FOV) of between 270° to 360° of a horizontal plane. A movable second camera (SC) component can include a FOV less than the FOV of the SiC and having a resolution or imaging capability greater than that of the SiC. The SC can physically move to change its field of view. Coverage of the movement of the movable SC can enable coverage with movement of the entire FOV of the SiC. An image aggregator can aggregating images from the SiC and SC. The movement of the SC can be linked to a portion of the SiC that is indicated by a human/program as being a segment of the FOV of the SiC of interest, which results in movement of the movable SC to provide higher resolution or greater imaging capability to that segment.

  • Patent number: 9101836
Abstract: A computer implemented method of presenting pre-show content to movie theater audiences at a plurality of locations includes receiving at least one request from an exhibitor of feature content, each request identifying a feature presentation, a feature presentation start time, and information defining the time reserved for seating the audience prior to the feature presentation. At least one multiplayer game for each pre-show session is selected and projected to the theater screen before the feature presentation. Multiple roles are defined for each game, including active competitor roles, administrator roles, and spectator roles. Participation requires operation of a mobile terminal to which a client application has been installed. Eligibility is based on one or more quantitative criteria such as the availability of roles for assignment and one or more qualitative criteria such as qualifying purchases made using a mobile client, social messaging activity, and the like.

  • Patent number: 9100629
Abstract: Methods and systems for presenting interactive content, to members of an audience having visible access to a common display screen, as part of a pre-show that precedes presentation of featured display content. Social network messages are received at a server. Each of the messages originates at, and is received from, one of a plurality of mobile devices executing a client application. The server forwards at least some of the received messages to a projector, which in turn projects the messages to the display screen as posts within a social network “page”. Concurrently, the received messages are transmitted over a wireless local area network to mobile terminals executing the client application. The client application initiates display of the messages within a corresponding social network page. A resource identifier (e.g. HTML link) within a message enables viewing of supplemental content at the discretion and initiative of each individual mobile terminal user.

  • Patent number: 9007587
Abstract: A set of images of an object are captured from a set of lenses positioned at different angles. A common point is determined, which has a color value that differs among the images. Color at the point is mathematically expressed as a set of equations. The equations comprise a recorded color value for the point, an ambient contribution, a diffuse contribution, and a specular contribution. The ambient and diffuse contributions are set as equal across the equations. The specular contribution is determined, such as by quantifying the light sources and solving for the specular contribution using a Phong lighting model equation. True color for the point, which is based on the ambient and diffuse contribution, is determined by solving a set of simultaneous equations once the specular contribution is known. An image is created where the point has the true color as determined above.

  • Publication number: 20140015832
Abstract: A system and method of the present invention is a video reconstruction provided to reconstruct animated three dimensional scenes from number of videos received from cameras which observe the scene from different positions and different angles. Multiple video footages of objects are taken from different positions. Then the video footages are filtered to avoid noise (results of light reflection and shadows. The system then restores 3D model of the object and the texture of the object. The system also restores positions of dynamic cameras. Finally, the system maps texture to 3D model.

  • Patent number: 8577876
Abstract: A system and method of the present invention present a web based music station. The system includes a website having at least two engine components such as a table of a playlist and a table of a content references. A system includes a controller with an algorithm incorporated therein. The algorithm is configured to retrieve various images and music pre-stored in the controller and presents these images and the music to the users. The system tries to reconstruct the “logical priority chains” of user perception as it relates to both the music and the images. The system then clusterizes picks of the music and the images and the users. The system then binds both music and images together using non-linear mapping to determine preference of each user.
