  • Patent number: 10204432
Abstract: Systems and methods of re-coloring digital images are disclosed. A system including a processor and a memory can execute stored instructions to obtain luminance information of a first image, e.g., an original grayscale image, and obtain color information of a second image, e.g., a colorized image of the original grayscale image. Multiple segmented image regions can be determined based on the luminance information of the first image. A color seed for each segmented image region can be determined based on the color information of the second image. A third image, e.g., a re-colored image, can be determined based on diffusing the color seeds of the segmented image regions.

  • Publication number: 20170372495
Abstract: Systems and methods of coloring and re-coloring digital images are disclosed. A system including a processor and a memory can execute stored instructions to segment (201) a first image to obtain segmented image regions. A morphological skeleton can be determined (202) for each segmented image region. A color can be associated (203) with each morphological skeleton, and each color can be diffused (204) from the associated morphological skeleton to obtain color information for a second image. The second image can be obtained (205) based on the color information.
