  • Patent number: 10081733
Abstract: A process is disclosed for the delayed sintering of metal nanoparticles in a self-assembled transparent conductive coating by incorporating a sintering additive into the water phase of the emulsion used to form the coating. The sintering additive reduces the standard reduction potential of the metal ion of the metal forming the nanoparticles by an amount greater than 0.1V but less than the full reduction potential of the metal ion. Emulsion compositions used in the process are also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20160111558
Abstract: A process for making a photovoltaic cell includes providing a semiconducting substrate having a back side passivation layer, and coating a self-assembling emulsion that includes glass frit particles onto the back side passivation layer. The emulsion is allowed to self-assemble into a network of traces that define cells. An electrode is formed over the network to create a precursor cell, which is then fired to cause the network to burn through the passivation layer and establish electrical contact between the semiconducting substrate and the electrode.

  • Publication number: 20040055420
Abstract: A novel method for enhancing the surface area of bulk metals is hereto presented. The method comprising according to one embodiment the steps of dispersing metal nano particles in a solution comprising water-soluble polymeric materials; introducing the a cathode substrate inside the dispersed solution; and than applying electric current to this cathode, so it is coated by said highly dispersed nano particles. According to yet another embodiment the method comprising the steps of coating bulk metals with nano particles made of a predetermined metal alloy; and than chemically leaching at least one of the metals such as a very high surface area of said coated metal is obtained. • Patent number: 6090179
Abstract: A process for manufacturing of metal powder from a halogen containing chemical compound of the metal. The process involves thermal treatment of the compound within a closed reactor and in non-oxidizing atmosphere so as to induce decomposition of the compound and formation therefrom of a metal halide and a reduction agent capable to reduce the metal halide to elemental metal which can be collected in the form of fine powder. By variation of condition of the thermal treatment like temperature, pressure, duration and by choosing particular type of the compound it is possible to control the size and purity of the powder as well the powder particles shape.
