  • Patent number: 11919832
Abstract: Disclosed is a dissimilar metal-supported catalyst for the production of aromatics by methane dehydroaromatization. In the dissimilar metal-supported catalyst, a noble metal such as gold (Au), silver (Ag), platinum (Pt), and/or rhodium (Rh) is introduced into a catalyst supported with iron (Fe) on a zeolite support to promote the dehydrogenation of methane and the formation of iron carbide (Fe3C) as an active species for dehydroaromatization, achieving a greatly improved yield of aromatics. Also disclosed is a method for producing aromatics using the dissimilar metal-supported catalyst.

  • Publication number: 20170029549
Abstract: Methods of producing a latex, and the resulting latexes, are described herein. Bio-based colloidal particles are used in a free radical polymerization process. The particles may provide one or more of a seed particle, stabilizing agent, Pickering emulsifier, surfactant or co-monomer. Optionally, the particles (or biopolymer molecules such as starch in the particles) are functionalized, for example to provide double bonds or free radicals, prior to or while conducting a free radical polymerization reaction including the particles and a second compound which is a monomer. In another option, the particles are used in the presence of a functionalizing agent (capable for example of providing double bonds or free radicals on a biopolymer) in a free radical polymerization reaction. Optionally, the resulting latex may include particles of a mixed morphology including a bio-based phase.

  • Patent number: 8012486
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for treating atopic dermatitis comprising hirsutenone as an active ingredient. Hirsutenone as the active ingredient of the present composition decreases the number of eosinophil and the level of IgE increased in atopic dermatitis and remarkably reduces expression amounts of immune regulatory cytokine (e.g., IL-4, IL-5 and IL-13) associated with atopic dermatitis. In addition, hirsutenone decreases COX-2 and iNOS expression. Hirsutenone as the active ingredient of the present composition could be effectively used in drugs, cosmetics and foods for treating atopic dermatitis or relieving a symptom of atopic dermatitis.

  • Publication number: 20100190729
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for treating atopic dermatitis comprising hirsutanonol as an active ingredient. Hirsutanonol or oregonin as the active ingredient of the present composition decreases the number of eosinophil increased in atopic dermatitis and regulates expression amounts of immune regulatory cytokines, IL-4, IL-5, IL-10 and IL-13 associated with atopic dermatitis. In addition, hirsutanonol and oregonin increase MBD (mouse beta-defensin)-1, MBD-2 and MBD-3 expression and decrease COX-2 and iNOS expression in mouse animal model of atopic dermatitis. Hirsutanonol and oregonin as the active ingredient of the present composition could be effectively used in drugs, cosmetics and foods for treating atopic dermatitis.

  • Publication number: 20070087064
Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition for preventing and treating climacteric symptoms comprising the extract of Sophorae Fructus as an effective ingredient. Precisely, the present invention relates to the extract of Sophorae Fructus having an effect of preventing and treating climacteric symptoms, a composition comprising the extract and a method for preventing and treating climacteric symptoms by administering the composition. The extract of Sophorae Fructus of the present invention has activities of promoting the osteoblast proliferation, inhibiting the secretion of bone-absorptive cytokines, promoting the secretion of growth factors involved in bone-reformation, stimulating the generation of nitric oxide in osteoblasts and inhibiting the osteoclast differentiation. In addition, the extract also reduces the concentration of a bone absorption index and inhibits the decrease of calcium content and bone density.

  • Patent number: 3956163
Abstract: Pigmented detergents having improved shelf stability are provided by dispersing in liquid detergent a polymeric pigment made by an emulsion polymerization process comprising the steps of (1) emulsion polymerizing from about 0 to about 80 weight percent of total monomer in absence of emulsifier, (2) adding a nonionic surfactant, and (3) continuing emulsion polymerization of the remaining monomer charge.
