  • Publication number: 20070153665
Abstract: An optical pickup apparatus according to an embodiment includes a semiconductor laser, an objective lens, a grating, and a light detecting device. The grating is installed between the semiconductor laser and the objective lens to divide the light beam emitted from the semiconductor laser into three beams or more including a main beam and a sub-beam. The light detecting device receives the divided light reflected by the optical recording medium. The grating includes a first diffraction grating and a second diffraction grating. The first diffraction grating has patterns formed for dividing a sub-beam with respect to a first optical recording medium having a first track pitch, and second diffraction grating has patterns formed for dividing the sub-beam divided by the first diffraction grating into sub-beams with respect to a second optical recording medium having a second track pitch.

  • Publication number: 20070152528
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a permanent magnet-excited transverse flux motor with an outer rotor. The permanent magnet-excited transverse flux motor comprises: a stator including a stator powdered iron core formed by an extruded molding through a mold, a pair of stator laminated iron cores stacked respectively at an upper layer portion and a lower layer portion of an outer circumference of the stator powdered iron core in such fashion as to be spaced apart from each other by a certain interval, and a stator winding interposed between the upper layer portion and the lower layer portion in such fashion as to be wound around the stator powdered iron core to form a multiple coil through which current flows; and a rotor including a plurality of rotor permanent magnets and a plurality of rotor powdered iron cores disposed on the outer circumference of the stator in such a fashion as to be are alternately arranged adjacent to one another.

  • Publication number: 20050275293
Abstract: The present invention provides a system for integrating a linear motion guide and a linear induction motor that can commonly employ a stationary member between the linear induction motor and the linear motion guide so that a complicated connection structure between a conventional linear motion guide and a conventional linear induction motor can be removed. In the system, a stationary unit interconnects a stationary member of the linear motion guide and a stationary member of the linear induction motor, and a movable unit interconnects a movable member of the linear motion guide and a movable member of the linear induction motor. As an existing linear transport device requiring both the linear induction motor and the linear motion guide can be simplified, an installation space of the device can be reduced, device manufacturing and maintenance costs can be reduced, and clean straight-line transport can be implemented.

  • Publication number: 20050062347
Abstract: The present invention provides a system for integrating a linear motion guide and a reluctance-type linear motor that can commonly employ a stationary member between the reluctance-type linear motor and the linear motion guide while removing a complicated connection structure between a conventional linear motion guide and a conventional linear motor for obtaining linear motion. In the system, a stationary unit interconnects a stationary member of the linear motion guide and a stationary member of the reluctance-type linear motor, and a movable unit interconnects a movable member of the linear motion guide and at least one movable member of the reluctance-type linear motor. Therefore, a structure of a linear transport device requiring both the linear motor and the linear motion guide is simplified, and cost is reduced.

  • Patent number: 5566444
Abstract: A tube-plugging assembly for sealing a leaking or damaged tube of a heat exchanger, either provisionally for later repair or permanently, comprises a plug, and an explosive charge and buffer subassembly disposed in the central portion of the plug. The charge and buffer subassembly is placed within the plug so as to leave an unoccupied space between the closed end of the plug and the end of the subassembly. The embodiment for provisional plugging comprises a plug having two to six grooves around its outer circumference for containing four to five annular rings of a gold-nickel alloy, and also comprises a plurality of female threads on the inside of the plug near the closed end. The embodiment for permanent plugging comprises a plug having two to six annular prominences around its outer circumference. The buffer is of a ductile polyethylene resin that transfers the explosive power to expand the plug and also absorbs any explosion debris. A connecting cord connects the explosive charge to a remote detonator.
