In the method, the first and second terminals generate and store a bio key using biographical (bio) information of a user in advance before performing a voice call, the first terminal sends a request for a voice call to the second terminal and establishing a session, the first and second terminals exchange and store a bio key stored in each terminal, and the first and second terminals generate a session shared key using the exchanged bio key and starting a Secure Real-time Transport Protocol (SRTP) session, and a restored bio key by acquiring bio information from received data. User authentication is then performed by comparing the bio key with the restored bio key.

    Abstract: MAC (Media Access Control) for an EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network system) defined in an IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) 802.3ah EFM (Ethernet in the First Mile) standard is implemented using general MAC based on an IEEE 802.3 standard. LLID (Logical Link ID) information is inserted at a predetermined position of a frame outside its preamble and the frame containing the LLID information is transferred to a higher layer so that general MAC can be used as MAC for the EPON system. A physical layer of the EPON system contains LLID information within a preamble and transfers the preamble containing the LLID information. An RS (Reconciliation Sublayer) configures a new Ethernet frame by inserting the LLID information at a predetermined position of the Ethernet frame outside the preamble. The RS transfers the new Ethernet frame to a higher data link layer of the EPON system. The data link layer transfers the new Ethernet frame containing the LLID information.

    Abstract: A solution for allowing conditional access to IP-based broadcast services in a passive optical network is disclosed. When a subscriber requests broadcast services by selecting a broadcast channel, an IP set-top converts the request into an IGMP join message and forwards the message to an ONU/ONT, a unit on the subscriber's side. The ONU/ONT delivers the message to an OLT interworking with a router while storing mapping information of the port that received the message and a MAC address of the selected channel. Thereafter, the OLT extracts information on MAC address of the IP set-top box and the requested broadcast data. The OLT compares the extracted information to the subscriber's subscription information and determines whether to provide the requested broadcast services. If the broadcast services may be provided, the broadcast data provided from the broadcast server is transmitted to the IP set-top box via ONU/ONT based on the stored mapping information.
