  • Patent number: 10887283
Abstract: One or more embodiments provide techniques for executing a workflow in a private data center. The cloud data center receives a request from a user. The cloud data center publishes an event to an event queue in the cloud data center. An event handler in the private data center accesses the event queue. The event handler executes the workflow in response to the event in the private data center. The event handler publishes the results of the workflow in the cloud data center.

Date of Patent: January 5, 2021
    Assignee: VMware, Inc.
Inventors: Kalin Georgiev Fetvadjiev, Dobrin Slavov Ivanov
  • Patent number: 10877797
Abstract: One or more embodiments provide techniques for executing a workflow in a private data center. The cloud data center receives a request from a user. The cloud data center notifies the private data center that the request necessitates execution of the workflow in the private data center. A handler in the private data center maps a component of the cloud data center to the request. The handler determines whether a pairing exists between the component in the cloud data center and a component of the private data center. Upon determining that the pairing exists, the handler executes the workflow in the private data center. The handler publishes the results of the workflow to the cloud data center.

  • Patent number: 9444885
Abstract: An example method is provided to perform workflow processing in a distributed computing environment comprising a first node, a second node and a data store accessible by the first node and second node. The method may comprise the first node retrieving, from the data store, state information associated with a workflow being processed by the second node. The method may further comprise, in response to determination that load balancing from the second node to the first node is required based on the state information of the workflow, the first node initiating the load balancing by updating the state information of the workflow in the data store. If the state information is successfully updated, the first node may resume processing of the workflow by performing a workflow step to be completed by the second node, but otherwise, abandon the load balancing.
