Abstract: A method for updating a service module in an extension service framework, if a new update package has been stored in an update server, is provided. The method includes steps of: an extension service framework server (a) transmitting an acquired request message to a download service module to transmit a request for a download to the update server; (b) if a request message for installation is transmitted from the download service module, verifying, unpacking and storing the update package in a first storage; (c) (i) allowing the service module in the extension service framework server to install the unpacked update files or (ii) if the service module is in another device, transmitting the unpacked update files to a second storage to install the unpacked update files in the second storage; and (d) allowing the service module to restart and reconnect with the extension service framework server.

The method includes steps of: a managing device (a) performing data collection for determining whether descendant modules are malfunctional, on condition that a module signal generated from an ancestor module is acquired, and that specific module data are recorded in a node of a tree data structure, and then if the specific module data are determined as corresponding to a malfunction of the ancestor module; and (b) transmitting individual malfunction information to a managing server to thereby allow the managing server to perform diagnosis on identical-type modules, where the individual malfunction information includes information on the malfunction of the ancestor module and the descendant modules, and where the identical-type modules are selected among modules of other vehicles by referring to whether each modules of said other vehicles is identical to the ancestor module and the descendant modules.

The method includes steps of: (a) the terminal automatically creating a list including one or more runnable applications to be interacted with the head unit selected among one or more applications installed therein, if the connection with the head unit through a communication channel is detected; and (b) the terminal transferring the list to the head unit.

Abstract: A method for managing a plurality of applications by using a head unit of a vehicle includes a step of recognizing the plurality of applications installed in at least one of mobile terminals, if being connected with the head unit of the vehicle. Additionally, the method includes the step of performing a process of classifying the recognized applications depending on categories or content types supported by the head unit of the vehicle and a process of authenticating whether the recognized applications are compatible with the head unit of the vehicle. The method also includes the step of maintaining states of the completely classified and authenticated applications being able to be controlled in the head unit of the vehicle by registering the completely classified and authenticated applications in the head unit.
