  • Patent number: 11791600
Abstract: A cable assembly includes coaxially arranged inner and outer barrels. The outer barrel overlaps a portion of the inner barrel. The inner and outer barrels respectively include first and second features that cooperate with one another to form a retention feature. The cable assembly has a cable that has at least one wire surrounded by an inner insulator that is covered in a metallic shield. The metallic shield is arranged in between the inner and outer barrels. The first feature is arranged beneath the metallic shield, and the second feature is arranged over the metallic shield. At least one of the first and second features extends in a radial direction relative to the other of the first and second features to capture the metallic shield with the retention feature.

  • Patent number: 11462875
Abstract: A cable assembly includes coaxially arranged inner and outer barrels. The outer barrel overlaps a portion of the inner barrel. The cable assembly further includes a cable that has at least one wire surrounded by an inner insulator that is covered in a metallic shield. The metallic shield is arranged in between the inner and outer barrels. The inner barrel includes a retention feature that is arranged beneath the metallic shield. The retention feature protrudes radially outward from the inner barrel to an outermost diameter. The outer barrel includes a crimped portion that is arranged adjacent to the retention feature and has an innermost diameter that is less than the outermost diameter to capture the metallic shield therebetween and prevent the outer barrel from axial movement relative to the inner barrel.

  • Patent number: 11387604
Abstract: An electrical connector assembly includes, among other things, a connector that includes a connector lock arm that is cantilevered from one side of the connector to a free end. The connector lock arm has first and second apertures that are separated by a block. The assembly further includes a connector position assurance lock that has a base that supports a wave-shaped center lock arm that is received in the connector lock arm. The center lock arm extends to a nose that has a shoulder. The connector position assurance lock is slidable between unlocked and fully locked positions that respectively correspond to the shoulder arranged in the first and second apertures. The center lock arm has a bend joined to the nose by a portion that is parallel to the connector lock arm in the unlocked and fully locked positions. The center lock arm is configured to be deflected to an improper mating position with the portion arranged non-parallel to the connector lock arm.

  • Patent number: 7588466
Abstract: A filtered electrical connector for a power module comprises a connector body having a back wall partly defining a chamber at one end of the connector body. An alternating current filter is retained in the chamber, and a terminal extends through the back wall, the chamber, and the alternating current filter disposed in the chamber. The filtered electrical connector is attached to a housing having a metal portion with the chamber disposed in a pass-through hole of the housing. The terminal is attached to an electrical circuit inside the housing and the alternating current filter is grounded on the metal portion of the housing to filter alternating current flowing outside of the housing from the electrical circuit inside the housing via the terminal.

  • Patent number: 7510407
Abstract: A filtered electrical connection header assembly for an electrical device, and methods for assembling a filtered connection header assembly for an electrical device, are disclosed. An electrical connection header may include a housing for an electrical circuit and a connection header assembly secured to the housing that includes a plurality of electrical pins. The pins may each include a first portion, and a second portion oriented generally orthogonal to the first portion. The second portions of the pins extend into the housing to contact the electrical circuit. A forward end of a connector shroud may receive a pin stabilizer having a plurality of apertures that receive the first portion of the pins for engagement with a mating connector. The electrical connection header may further include a filter assembly configured to filter a signal transmitted though the pins that is secured to the external surface of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5119455
Abstract: A connector system for operatively connecting the ends of two fiber optic cables together. A wall-mountable plate includes an elongated receptacle containing spaced through bores. The bores have opposed frusto-conical entry sections which are joined by a cylindrical central section. A terminal connector is mounted on the end of each cable and has spaced frusto-conical projections which end in cylindrical nose portions containing the ends of the fibers. The terminal connector projections are insertable through opposite ends of the bore into abutment of the nose portions at an interface location along a central portion of the bore. Lock tabs and shoulders on the receptacle and on one of the terminal connectors latch the connector within the bore, with the terminal being held without bias and against reverse movement out of that end of the bore. A collar is slidably mounted on the other terminal connector, with a spring captured between the connector and the collar for biasing them apart.
