  • Patent number: 10130506
Abstract: An ostomy closure is disclosed for sealing an ostomy pouch after use and removal from an ostomy mounting plate. The ostomy closure may comprise a flexible storage bag having a bag base and a bag opening and define a bag chamber. The bag base may couple to an exterior surface of the ostomy pouch. The bag opening may retract over the ostomy pouch and define a bag pouch enclosure for encapsulating the ostomy pouch within the bag chamber to prevent leakage of contents within the ostomy pouch from and through flexible storage bag upon being securely sealed at an opened end.

  • Publication number: 20170350797
Abstract: The present invention relates to a biological sample collection kit, which uses a unique dry preservative for the preservation of nucleic acids, DNA and RNA, for collection, stabilization, transportation and long-term room temperature storage of biological samples that can be from sources such as saliva for molecular diagnostic applications. The invention features a collection device for biological samples such as saliva containing nucleic acids, and dry preservatives that are affixed directly or to a carrier substrate and placed within the collection device such that the samples come into contact with the dry preservatives resulting in the preservation and stabilization of the nucleic acids.

  • Publication number: 20040107974
Abstract: Cosmetics brushes particularly suitable for applying mascara include a plurality of multi-fiber bristles deployed extending from a core, at least some of the multi-fiber bristles including a plurality of individual fibers in supportive interengagement. In one embodiment, a central support fiber has smaller and less stiff additional fibers braided or woven thereabout. The additional fibers may themselves be braided bundles of microfiber. In another embodiment, thin fibers are constrained and supported within a hollow support fiber, which may be a fiber with a C-shaped cross section and an entry slot to the hollow central portion. In another embodiment, a spiral support fiber is spirally wound around a plurality of smaller diameter fibers. In a further embodiment, a plurality of fibers are braided together to form a multi-fiber bristle, and some of the fibers may be bundles of microfibers. In these cosmetics brushes, fibers may be selected and mixed to achieve desired performance.

  • Patent number: 5970990
Abstract: A mascara container has a bottle for receiving a supply of mascara and defining a bottle neck and opening. A cap is removably secured to the bottle neck at a closure end of the cap, the cap having a comb end extending from the closure end to a top end of the cap and defining a comb slot therebetween. An applicator is mounted to the closure end of the cap and extends through the bottle opening when the cap is secured on the bottle neck. A comb has teeth sized for combing eyelashes, and the comb pivotally mounted to the comb end of the cap for pivotal movement between a closed position with the teeth stored in the comb slot and an open position with the teeth deployed for combing action. The comb is removably retained in the comb slot by snap engagement and is provided with an extending grip for manipulating the comb.
