  • Patent number: 10911966
Abstract: Example methods and apparatus to measure wireless networks indoors are disclosed herein. An apparatus includes a location detector to determine whether a mobile device is in an indoor location. An executor to: execute a first measurement test of said wireless network, the first measurement test includes executing a default latency test; and determine whether a result of the first measurement satisfies a threshold. A loader selects either a second measurement test or a third measurement test different from the second measurement test. The second measurement test has measurement instructions stored on the mobile device. The third measurement test has measurement instructions to be downloaded from a server communicatively coupled to the mobile device.

  • Patent number: 10405217
Abstract: Example methods and apparatus to measure wireless networks indoors are disclosed herein. The example methods and apparatus include, in response to determining that a mobile device is in an indoor location, classifying the indoor location. In some examples, the methods and apparatus execute a first measurement of said wireless network. Based on the results of the first measurement, the example methods and apparatus determine whether to download and execute measurement instructions. The example measurement instructions are based on at least the indoor location classification.

  • Patent number: 9763123
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for determining reliability of wireless carriers. An example method includes extracting channel information from messages transmitted to mobile devices at a plurality of locations to determine a quantity of available channels, segregating the extracted channel information into a first group corresponding to channels of a first carrier and a second group corresponding to channels of a second carrier, and determining, with a processor, a relative reliability between the first carrier and the second carrier based on a respective quantity of channels in the first group and the second group.

  • Patent number: 9668145
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed to scan a wireless communication spectrum. In some examples, the methods and apparatus associate a first base station identifier with a first frequency by scanning a wireless communication spectrum at a first rate with a first scanner having base station identifier decoding enabled on the first scanner, measure a signal strength by scanning the wireless communication spectrum at a second rate with a second scanner having base station identification code decoding disabled on the second scanner, the disabling of the base station identification code decoding enables the second scanner to scan at the second rate, the second rate being higher than the first rate, determine whether the signal strength is associated with the first frequency, and when the signal strength is associated with the first frequency, populate a measurement record from the second scanner with the first base station identifier in association with the signal strength.
