  • Patent number: 9987906
Abstract: Systems and methods are directed to providing power to a transport refrigeration system (TRS) using an undersized main power source in combination with a secondary power source. The systems and methods allow the undersized main power source to be used with a TRS that requires a power more than a maximum threshold power of the undersized main power source to operate at a full cooling capacity. The secondary power supplements the undersized main power to allow the TRS to operate at the full cooling capacity. Optionally, a tertiary power source can supplement the undersized main power source, or the undersized main and secondary power sources to run the TRS.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 24, 2013
Date of Patent: June 5, 2018
    Assignee: THERMO KING CORPORATION
    Inventor: Pierce Dominic Kennedy

  • Patent number: 9569858
Abstract: A cross-platform web-based system for water testing capable of measuring, analyzing and maintaining the quality of water using a plurality of different test strip readers each configured to obtain a digital image of a reagent test strip, normalize and analyze color information in the digital image by colorimetric analysis, and to transmit a set of colorimetric values corresponding to said digital image to a cross-platform cloud-based system for analysis. The cloud-based server(s) receive the colorimetric values, calculate analyte parts-per-million (ppm), and return the calculated analyte ppm with consistant results no matter which reader is used.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 13, 2015
Date of Patent: February 14, 2017
Inventors: James Bennett Babcock, Rebecca Elizabeth Petruccy, Bretton Wade, Dominic Kennedy
