Patent number: 11958151Abstract: A machine tool includes with a tool head frame, a tool head, and an axis unit fixed to the tool head frame which fixes the tool head in a predefinable position. A movement device for moving the tool head frame includes a machine frame and a multipod drive which has at least three drive elements. The movement device is arranged in the flux of force between the machine frame and the machine tool frame, and has at least two supporting elements which can be brought into a locked state. The multipod drive is mechanically overdetermined by the supporting elements and the drive elements.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2019Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: PICUM MT GMBHInventor: Dominik Brouwer

Publication number: 20210299731Abstract: A mobile machine tool includes a main body, a machine bed head, and an end effector. The main body permits the machine tool to stand on the ground. The machine bed head is cantilevered relative to the main body. The end effector is guided on the machine bed head by a positioning system. The machine bed head is attached to the main body by a mechanically overdetermined frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2021Publication date: September 30, 2021Inventor: Dominik BROUWER

Patent number: 9669483Abstract: Tubulars are joined for subterranean borehole use in the production of hydrocarbons by a technique of magnetically impelled arc butt (MIAB) welding. Large casing can be accommodated and the weld quality is maintained with control over the pattern of arc movement on the end walls by virtue of relative movements of the tubulars as the arc is generated and the magnetic field is applied. One or both tubulars can be manipulated relatively in a variety of direction to control the movements of the arc as the magnetic field induces circular arc movement along the end walls of the tubulars to heat up the ends to the temperature needed to effectively fuse the wall ends together. Movement can be rotational or axial about a fixed axis or lateral with respect to the axes both with and without skewing of the axes. The movements can be combined to obtain the desired track.Type: GrantFiled: January 16, 2014Date of Patent: June 6, 2017Assignee: Baker Hughes IncorporatedInventors: Joerg Lehr, Dominik Brouwer

Patent number: 9366128Abstract: An apparatus for manipulating objects include a plurality of actuators distributed on a rig. The actuators cooperate to orient and move the well equipment. Each actuator may include at least one non-rigid tension member configured to engage the well equipment, and at least one sensor generating a signal representative of at least one parameter of: (i) a length of at least one of the at least one non-rigid tension members, (ii) a tension along at least one of the at least one non-rigid tension members, (iii) a position of at least one of the at least one non-rigid tension members; and (iv) an orientation of at least one of the at least one non-rigid tension members. The actuators may also each include a drum guiding each of the at least one non-rigid tension members and a motor rotating each drum. The apparatus further includes a controller in communication with the actuators, the controller being programmed to move the object based on the at least one sensor signals.Type: GrantFiled: May 22, 2013Date of Patent: June 14, 2016Assignee: BAKER HUGHES INCORPORATEDInventors: Dominik Brouwer, Joerg Lehr

Patent number: 9308600Abstract: A magnetically impelled arc butt (MIAB) welding device positioned on the rig floor heats facing ends of a pair of wellbore tubulars. After the facing ends are heated and/or melted, a force application device compressively engages the facing ends to form a welded joint.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2011Date of Patent: April 12, 2016Assignee: BAKER HUGHES INCORPORATEDInventors: Thomas Hassel, Aret Varahram, Florian Baer, Sven Mitulla, Joerg Lehr, Ludger Leo Josef Overmeyer, Hans Lothar Wohlgemuth, Friedrich-Wilhelm Bach, Dominik Brouwer
