  • Patent number: 11478960
Abstract: A method produces a vehicle replacement part for a first vehicle component of a connecting system, which is fixed to a second vehicle component via a detachable clip connection. The first vehicle component has a male fixing element, and the second vehicle component has a female fixing element. To connect the first vehicle component to the second vehicle component, the male fixing element is plugged into the female fixing element and is latched. The production method of the vehicle replacement part provides an unfinished part, which is dimensioned to produce the vehicle replacement part. Then, the unfinished part is reshaped in accordance with the geometry of the first vehicle component. Male fixing elements are then provided and, in the last step, the male fixing elements are joined to the reshaped unfinished part.

  • Publication number: 20220176480
Abstract: A cutting tool, such as a reamer, includes a rear machine connection member, a center tube, a front cutting ring, and a rear cutting ring. The front cutting ring includes a sleeve member and one or more cutting head assemblies. Each cutting head assembly includes at least one support arm extending radially outwardly from a rotational axis, RA, of the cutting tool, and a cutting head supported by the at least one support arm. The at least one support arm of the cutting head assembly defines a fluid dynamic structure for directing fluid flow in a desired direction to facilitate chip evacuation during a cutting operation. The fluid dynamic structure can be an airfoil, a turbine blade, or similar structure that produces a directed fluid flow.

  • Publication number: 20210206155
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for constructing a laminar body from a plurality of superimposed layers of free-flowing material, in particular particulate material, and a build platform within a working area. The layers are solidified in locally predetermined regions by the action of binders and are joined together so that at least one moulded body is formed by the solidified and joined regions of the layers. The device comprises a discharging device movable back and forth over the working area in at least one discharge direction and having at least one discharge opening from which the free-flowing material can be discharged in individual superimposed layers during the movement of the discharging device.

  • Patent number: 10940551
Abstract: A lightweight cutting tool, such as a reamer, includes a front cutting body, a front cutting ring, a center tube, a rear cutting ring and a rear machine connection member. An arm assembly of the front and rear cutting heads includes one or more leading arms, one or more trailing arms and a cutting head supported by the leading and trailing arms. The leading arms and the trailing arms curve in opposite directions. To reduce weight and moment of inertia of the reamer, a cross-sectional area of the leading arms and the trailing arms is largest proximate the sleeve member and is smallest proximate the cutting head. In addition, the front cutting body, the front and rear cutting rings and the center tube may be made by additive manufacturing. Fluid can be transported entirely through the reamer to the cutting insert/workpiece interface and the guide pad/workpiece interface.

  • Patent number: 10938631
Abstract: Systems and methods of evaluating single points of failure in a computer network are provided. The system includes a processor configured to receive at least two polylines approximating respective network spans. For each point in a set of points representing geographic locations, the processor can determine a level of risk that an event at the point will affect at least the two polylines. The processor can determine an overall risk of failure by combining the level of risk for each point in the set of points. The processor can output a report indicating at least one point determined to be a potential SPoF based on the level of risk for the at least one point.

  • Patent number: 10739750
Abstract: A method is disclosed for correcting deviations in a production process of an article. Initially, measured 3D surface coordinates of a first article are obtained and used to create a virtual image of the first article that is displayed on a display apparatus that is fastened to the user's head. The virtual image is superimposed on a predefined model image of the article which is also displayed on the display apparatus to enable the user to detect any region(s) where the measured first article deviates from the predefined model. The user is then able, via a gesture (e.g., hand movement) or head movement, to select a particular region of deviation and control the desired corrective action to be performed on subsequently produced articles. The present method thereby enables the experienced user to subjectively select the region(s) requiring correction action and the degree and type of corrective action to be taken.
