Abstract: The invention concerns painting installations comprising painting machines or robots (6a, 6b, 7a, 7b, 8a, 8b, 9a, 9b), each with a sprayer (12) and a paint reservoir (13), associated with the sprayer and designed to supply it, the machines or robots being arranged along a painting line for motor vehicle bodies (2). Each machine or robot is provided with a fluidic connector, designed to co-operate discontinuously with a dispensing system (14a, 14b, 15a, 15b) comprising a color shade-changing unit. Each dispensing system (14a, 14b, 15a, 15b) is arranged between two consecutive machines (6a, 7a; 6b, 7b; 8a, 9a; 8b, 9b), and is common to those two machines, which are successively connected thereto to fill their respective reservoirs each time there is a color shade change.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method for controlling a surface coating installation comprising at least a multi-axial machine (3, 4, 5), each axis being equipped with motoring means, and the machine being provided with equipment such as a sprayer (8) and corresponding sensors and actuators. Said method consists in characterising the jets of treatment product, for each of the types of equipment, and in storing said data; in characterising the machines (3, 4, 5), more particularly their kinematic axes; in recording the characteristics of a component (2) to be treated; in automatically creating, on the basis of said elements, the trajectories of the machines taking into account the desired thickness of the treatment product. Said method enables the automatic generation of application files for painting motor vehicle bodies.

Abstract: The invention concerns a method for production and spray-application of a multicomponent paint in an installation comprising a main line (3) at one end of which emerges a conduit (4) supplying a base colour shade, and at the other end of which is mounted a sprayer (14), said line comprising a flow rate regulating device (10) controlling the flow of the product dispensed by the sprayer. Said method consists in: inputting at least a hardener in the main line from a secondary line; measuring in the main line the flow rate of the mixture comprising a base colour shade and hardeners; then, on the basis of the base colour shade/hardener volumetric ratio of the specific mixture, regulating the flow rate of each of the hardeners so as to obtain the predetermined volumetric ratio.

Abstract: An electrostatic coating product spraying device comprising: at least one sprayer having an electrostatic charging mechanism; and a support structure supporting the at least one sprayer, the structure including elements which are at ground potential, wherein the support structure includes an electrostatic shield positioned and arranged so that the electrostatic charging mechanism is located between the electrostatic shield and an object to be coated. The electrostatic shield is maintained at a potential differing from ground potential.
