Abstract: A covering detecting falls comprising a body delimited by edges, a plurality of pressure sensors distributed in accordance with a selected geometry in the body a processor connected to at least some of the pressure sensors and which is arranged to collect state information of these pressure sensors, and at least a first socket and a second socket, each of which is connected to the processor which is arranged in the region of an edge and which is arranged so as to be able to be connected to a socket of another similar component. The processor is arranged so as to associate location information which is taken from this state information with location information of the component receive via the first socket information originating from a first other similar component and transmit, via the second socket, the associated information and/or the received information to a second other similar component.

Abstract: A floor covering includes: a surface layer having a plurality of conductive segments capable of being supplied with electrical power; an at least partially electrically insulating intermediate layer having a plurality of through-recesses distributed in a substantially regular manner so that the mean distance between a recess and the recess closest thereto is between approximately 5 and 20 cm; a base layer having a plurality of electrical contacts, of which at least some correspond to the recesses of the surface layer and are connected to an electronic controller; the surface, intermediate and base layers being superimposed in this order and positioned so that at least some of the conductive segments are arranged at least partially opposite a recess of the intermediate layer, and so that these conductive segments react to a pressure by approaching the electrical contacts which correspond to the base layer.
