  • Publication number: 20110073609
Abstract: A container, comprising a body comprising a bottom wall and sidewalls extending from said bottom wall; at least one of two opposite side walls comprising a handgrip portion in an upper portion thereof, the handgrip portion comprising an aperture; a handle comprising at least one side arm, the at least one side arm comprising a first end, a second end and a length between the first and the second ends; the aperture of the handgrip portion receiving the first end of the handle; the side arm being connected to the body by the first end of the handle sliding inside the handgrip portion through the aperture, from i) a pulled out-position, where the first end of the handle is locked inside the handgrip portion by the aperture and the side arm is pivotable about the aperture, and ii) a retracted position along the sidewall of the body, wherein the first end is engaged deeper in the handgrip portion and the side arm is locked into position by the aperture at a position between the first and the second ends.

  • Publication number: 20060266750
Abstract: A resealing lid has a web. A skirt depends from the web. At least a first projection and a second projection are formed on the web. The first projection is spaced from the second projection. Each of the first projection and the second projection are adapted to selectively engage a retaining member on the lid. A tear line formed in the skirt removes a portion of the skirt. A remaining portion of the skirt connects the first projection to the second projection.

  • Patent number: 5411160
Abstract: A child resistant closure has a lid and a container. In the upper area of the container, a resilient area is provided to allow a manual depression so as to distance this upper area of the container from the lower edge of the lid thus allowing a manual gripping of the lower edge of the lid. Removal of the lid is therefore effected through two successive operations in directions substantially perpendicular to one another, one being a depression of the resilient area substantially perpendicular to the axis of the body, the other being a lifting of the lid substantially parallel to this axis.

  • Patent number: 5054820
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a connector for use in a network of mains and tubes for directing sap collected from trees to a central sap-processing unit. The connector, which is used for conveying sap from a tube to a main, first comprises a clip for encircling the main. The clip consists of a separatable band having interlockable ends which are so shaped as to draw the band onto the main when interlocking is carried out. The connector also comprises a sap conveying member which is rotatably engaged in an opening defined in the band, the conveying member having one end adapted to penetrate a pre-pierced hole in the main. The conveying member is rotatably orientable with respect to the clip and to the main for connection with tubes having varying angles relative to the axis of the main.

  • Patent number: 5027969
Abstract: The invention relates to the combination of a closure and of a container, the closure displaying a peripheral depending skirt while the container displays, along the walls thereof, a continuous peripheral flange receiving, on the top face thereof, the lower edge of the closure skirt. The connection of the flange at each corner is weakened by the presence of a series of gaps to render the flange at those areas breakable to thereby provide a visual indication of removal of the closure, whether it be authorized or unauthorized.

  • Patent number: 4968075
Abstract: A tamper-proof tag, made of a unitary body formed of injection molded plastic material, comprises a fastener flexibly connected to a strap, the latter being foldable into a ring with one end engageable into a catch defined at the other end of the strap. The fastener is so configured that, once received in the catch, it may be forcingly engaged into an opening defined in the strap and extending in the catch of the engaged strap. Once engaged, the fastener cannot be removed without damaging the tag.

  • Patent number: 4887387
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a device for collecting sap from trees which comprises: a first member having a hollow sap-collecting section with one end adapted to be inserted into a cavity formed in the outer layers of a tree to be sapped, and an openable housing section integrally formed at the other end thereof; and a second member with a head section movably mounted in the housing section and a sap-discharging section adapted to be connected to a sap tubing system. The head section is movable between a first position wherein a channel in the head section is in fluid communication with the sap passageway so that sap collected from the tree may be directed to the sap tubing system through the channel, and a second position wherein the passageway is blocked by the head section. A third member partially mounted over the sap-collecting section of the first member may be used to cooperate with an expansible sealing element on the first member to sealingly secure the device into the tree.

  • Patent number: 4884365
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes a device for collecting sap from trees which has a sap-collecting section adapted to be inserted into the outer layers of a tree; this section displays thereon an annular recess in which is received an expansible sealing element. A second member is partially mounted over the sap-collecting section of the first member and is adapted to be moved against the sealing element so as to expand the element when the device is inserted into a tree cavity to thereby prevent air infiltration in the device when the sap-collecting system is operating under vacuum conditions.
