Abstract: A method for the reception of a flow representing a multimedia content is described, along with a device for receiving such a flow. The method includes determining that the restoration of first and second successive portions of the content modified by the restoration of respective first and second multimedia content, and activating a reading module for reading the first multimedia content, and another reading module for reading the second multimedia content, at a point in time prior to the end of the first portion. The method also includes alternately controlling the restoration of the first multimedia content and the second multimedia content during the reading of the first and second portions, respectively.

Before the time, the device: sends a request to provide an item of content to be read to a remote server, receives an identifier of the item of content, associated with an item of stream marker information; stores the identifier in correspondence with the item of marker information, and downloads all or part of the item of content on the basis of the received identifier. At the predetermined time, the device: receives a stream containing an item of marker information identical to the item of marker information already stored, and reads the downloaded item of content corresponding to the stored identifier, on the basis of the received identical item of marker information.

Abstract: In order to assist the selection of a data stream to be played back on a receiver device from a plurality of data streams received by the receiver device, a plurality of data streams are received in a processor unit simultaneously with auxiliary data respectively associated with said data streams. Then, on the basis of the received auxiliary data, information for assisting selection of what is to be displayed for each data stream is determined. Thereafter, the data streams are linked with the respectively determined selection assistance information. These linked data streams are then transmitted to the receiver device.
