    Abstract: The invention relates to a water-resistant mascara composition that has a high water content. The inventive mascara composition contains an oil phase comprising a liquid ester, an oil, or a mixture thereof, 1 to 50 percent by weight of a silicon-based film-forming agent, 1 to 10 percent by weight of a gel-forming agent selected among fatty acid esters, glycol derivatives, or mixtures thereof, 1 to 50 percent by weight of substances selected among pigments, powders, fillers, and mixtures thereof, an aqueous phase comprising 42 to 75 percent by weight of water, 0.1 to 10 percent by weight of a surfactant, and other carrier substances, auxiliary agents, active substances, or mixtures thereof until reaching 100 percent by weight. Said composition contains no wax and no hydrocarbon solvent.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a novel cosmetic product with special flexibility and stretching characteristics, so-called “stretch-mascara”. The mascara has an oil phase and an aqueous phase, said oil phase containing 2 to 10 wt. % of an unbranched polyethylene wax with a molecular weight of 400 to 1500 Dalton, in relation to the weight of the oil phase, and at least one other wax or oil or mixture thereof. The aqueous phase contains 0.5 to 5% of a film former PVP/PVP-VA, polyquaternium-46 and mixtures thereof.     Abstract: A new cosmetic product combines tanning, sunscreen, moisturizing and water-repellant properties in a stable formulation. The product is an O/W emulsion which includes from 5% to 14% by weight of inorganic pigments treated with perfluoroalkyl phosphates, in which the pigments are selected from the group consisting of colored iron oxides, titanium dioxide and mixtures thereof. There are dispersants selected from the group consisting of at least (b1) cetyl dimethicone copolyol and (b2) cetyl dimethicone which are present in the range of 2% to 10% by weight, with the ratio of (b1) to (b2) in the range from 15-3 to 40-8, and further known carrier and auxiliary agents as well as further dispersants if required, in which the share of moisturizing additives is less than 4% by weight.

    Abstract: There are disclosed stabilized Ti-Sn-O nanoclusters formed by complexing Ti-Sn-O nanoclusters with a salt of an alpha-hydroxy acid and also complexed nanoclusters with increased charge transfer interaction formed by annealing the complexed nanoclusters. Also disclosed are compositions for protection against ultraviolet radiation in which the nanoclusters are utilized with the usual topical carriers in an amount to give the level of sun protection factor (SPF) desired. Further disclosed is the method of making the nanoclusters involving acid hydrolyzing a titanium alkoxide and then reacting the hydrolyzed alkoxide with a tin halide.
