  • Publication number: 20100160870
Abstract: A drug loading apparatus has a dispensing chamber housing formed by a top housing part and a bottom housing part. The top housing part is separable from the bottom housing part. A plunger is located in the bottom housing part such that the plunger forms a first fluid seal with an inner wall of the bottom housing part. When the top housing part is coupled to the bottom housing part, a second fluid seal is formed.

  • Publication number: 20100152676
Abstract: A drug loading apparatus includes a plunger with a through hole or slit valve located in the top face of the plunger. A dispensing chamber housing located in a drug delivery device is configured to receive the plunger so that a dispensing chamber is formed when the plunger is located in the dispensing chamber housing. The drug can then be loaded into the dispensing chamber through the plunger, and a piston with an end configured to seal the through hole or engage the plunger with the slit valve can then be inserted.

  • Patent number: 6921385
Abstract: An apparatus for delivery of a surgical fluid to a surgical handpiece is disclosed. The apparatus generally includes a container and an adapter receiving one end of the container. The container holds the surgical fluid to be delivered to the handpiece. The adapter is for removably engaging a receptacle in a surgical console and for fluidly coupling with a source of pressurized fluid in a surgical console.

  • Patent number: 5925032
Abstract: A syringe cannula holder having a split outer sleeve that can be folded around the cannula so as to engulf fully the cannula. The sleeve is held in place by a sliding retaining nut. A hinged, locking retainer holds the syringe within the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 5074440
Abstract: A multiple use container for dispensing fluids, particularly preservative free preparations in variable doses, includes a squeezable container for holding the fluid. A dispenser assembly associated with an exit opening from the container includes a hollow dispensing tip which encloses a fluid valve. The fluid valve utilizes a piston head which sealingly seats in a valve seat. A resilient biasing means holds the piston head in a normally sealed or closed position. A second opening in communication with the interior of the bottle is covered by a hydrophobic filter having a pore size that prevents microbial contaminants from entering the container but prohibits fluid from leaving the container. The bottle is squeezed to force fluid to overcome the biasing pressure of the fluid valve to dispense fluid from the bottle. Upon release of that pressure, the fluid valve closes and air passes through the filter to replace the dispensed fluid. The air entering the container is sterilized by the filter.

  • Patent number: 4905819
Abstract: A means, method, and system for storing and caring for contact lenses, including cleaning, rinsing, storing, disinfecting, lubricating, etc., including a self-contained contact lens holder to support and contain one or more contact lenses. A fluid conduit is associated with the contact lens holder to provide a pathway for fluid to the chamber or chambers holding each contact lens. A fluid container holding a fluid used in contact lens care can be put in fluid communication with the fluid conduit and is operable to selectively introduce fluid into the fluid conduit and fill the contact lens holder with the fluid. The contact lens holder, fluid contact, and fluid container may all be incorporated in a unitary body, or fluid container and/or the fluid conduit can be selectively attachable to the contact lens holder so that different fluid containers can be interchangeable to the contact lens holder.

  • Patent number: 4871094
Abstract: A dispenser for substances including solids, liquids, semi-solids, and gels including a forward member having a bore extending between its front and back opposite ends. The front end of the forward member consists of an application orifice. A rearward member is translateably movable with respect to the forward member and includes a plunger which is extendable through the back end of the forward member into the bore of the forward member. The plunger is slidable in the bore in response to movement of the forward section with respect to the rearward section. The substance, having been inserted into the bore, is then expelled from the application orifice in a precise and easily maneuverable manner. The dispensing means can be used with substances which are pre-packaged in capillary-type containers. The plunger can have different diametered sections which allow expulsion of the substance and then allow expulsion of the capillary-type container.

  • Patent number: 4865189
Abstract: A device for storage, mixing, and dispensing of two separate materials, including but not limited to liquids, semi-liquids, powders, and granulated materials. The first and second containers include neck portions which are matably slidable within one another, the necks defining openings into each container. A plug member is retentively held in the neck of either container, and extends to a stopper portion which blocks fluid flow through the neck of the one container when it is positioned in the neck of the other container, thus separating the two independent materials during storage. A sleeve extends over the second container and at least a portion of the first container. A removable collar can be positioned between the second container and the first container to hold them in a position where the materials are separated for storage.
