Abstract: A system and method for resuming content playback after content playback in an in-vehicle infotainment system includes a mobile device and the in-vehicle infotainment system in communication with the mobile device. The in-vehicle infotainment system displays content and communicates a content position signal to the mobile device. When the mobile device and the in-vehicle infotainment system disconnect, the mobile device displays a screen display in response to disconnecting. The screen display corresponds to resuming future playback. The mobile device communicates a resume future playback signal indicative of resuming future playback to a set top box. The resume future playback signal comprising a content identifier, the content position identifier and a user identifier. The set top box displays content at the set top box based on the content identifier, the content position identifier and the user identifier.

Abstract: Systems and methods for caching data and generating responses to data requests are disclosed. A content delivery system for sending requested data to a client based on a client request in accordance with one or more embodiments of the present invention comprises a server for compiling data into a data cache, and a headend, coupled to the server, for obtaining the data, categorizing and storing the data in groups in an object cache, receiving a client request, picking data from the object cache and generating a response, and returning the response while caching the response in a response cache that is used to directly respond to future client requests.

The headend requests geographic coordinate location data from the mobile device and, when geographic coordinate data is available, determines a first geographic region associated with the mobile device in response to the geographic coordinate location data. When geographic coordinate data is not available from the mobile device, the headend extracts an IP address from the request and determines a second geographic region based on the IP address and a confidence level. When the confidence level is below a threshold, the headend determines a third geographic region based on subscriber data for the mobile device. The headend controls the mobile device in response to one of the first geographic region, the second geographic region and the third geographic region.
