  • Patent number: 5212774
Abstract: Preferred embodiments include systems with two processors and an interconnected modem, one processor functioning as a control for both the modem and the second processor. This permits remote communication with the second processor for test or reconfiguration purposes.

  • Patent number: 5203000
Abstract: A system which includes a microprocessor (or microcontroller) and an auxiliary chip which monitors the system power supply voltage and performs related functions for the microprocessor. In one mode of operation (for use with a low-power CMOS processor), the auxiliary chip sends an interrupt to the microprocessor when the power supply falls to a first level, and also resets the microprocessor when the supply voltage reaches a second preset level on the way up (i.e. while power is being restored). In a selectable second mode of operation (for use with NMOS processor), the auxiliary chip resets the processor when the power supply is on the way down.

  • Patent number: 5189598
Abstract: An innovative microboard package, which includes not only a row of edge connector contacts along one long edge thereof, but also includes another row of edge connector contacts along the other long edge. The contacts are connected so that the functionality of the board can be changed merely by choosing one of the two orientations for insertion. For example, one embodiment provides a microprocessor module if insertion is done in one direction, and a microcontroller module if insertion in the other direction. Optionally, the row of contacts which is not inserted into the mother board can be connected to a jumper cable, using a simple connector header.
