    Abstract: A method and apparatus for the automatic manufacture of flat bottom bags from a substantially continuous supply of a sealable material whereby the material is formed as a bag having a reinforced sealed flat bottom formed by an interior bag forming assembly that is cooperable with a relatively movable folder assembly that folds the bottom of the bag and removes it from the bag former assembly after a length of the bag is severed from the remainder of the material.

    Abstract: A surface acoustic wave (SAW) filter device configured as a tapped time delay is mounted on a plastic card. The SAW filter acts as a nondestructive storage medium for an identification code in an access control system. The identification code is imbedded in the SAW device by selectively connecting certain taps to the filter output terminals. The identification code is read out of the SAW filter device and decoded for verification of the code. To read the code a sweep frequency oscillator excites the filter to launch an acoustic wave. The filter ouput mixes with the input sweep signal and the lower sideband (f.sub.b -f.sub.a) is extracted to obtain a discrete line spectra each line representing the connected tap of the filter. The line spectra signal is mixed with another version of the input sweep signal to obtain a time-based amplitude response of the discrete line spectra. This analog signal is converted to a digital signal which corresponds to the binary code of the connections to the SAW filter.

    Abstract: A solid state voltage regulator circuit having an output with absolute voltage change per degree centigrade temperature dependence comprises a voltage regulator having a forward control loop for sensing changes in regulated output voltage, and a temperature transducer having an output voltage connected to the forward loop and adapted to change the sensed regulated voltage input to the regulator in direct proportion to the absolute ambient temperature. The transducer output is connected to the forward loop by an amplifier and the circuit is readily adapted to any desired linear temperature dependence by adjustment of the gain of the amplifier.

    Abstract: Arc detection and control apparatus for a high power high voltage gas laser with a constant current power supply comprises a circuit responsive to changes in voltage across the laser electrodes for disconnecting the power supply when the voltage change exceeds a predetermined limit. The circuit monitors a small proportional value of the interelectrode voltage through an optical coupler and has a multiplier circuit for converting detected voltage changes and the differential thereof into pulses with a constant amplitude for fixed percentage changes of the electrode voltage and into pulses with increasing amplitudes for proportionally greater electrode voltage changes. This circuit normalizes and filters the resultant pulses and permits them to be compared to a reference voltage in a comparator circuit. When the pulse amplitude exceeds the value of the reference voltage a control apparatus is actuated which disconnects the power supply from the laser electrodes.
