  • Patent number: 4559708
Abstract: A method and apparatus for measuring the internal circumference of a marked compliant ring using a cylinder of known circumference having a fiducial mark aligned with a pointer on a device for measuring an angle of rotation to which the cylinder is affixed. Rotation of the cylinder until the mark on the compliant ring is realigned with the pointer determines an angle of rotation from which can be calculated the internal circumference of the compliant ring relative to the circumference of the cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4256279
Abstract: A gimbal system utilizing two torque motor drives wherein the motors are on the drive axes and whose rotors and cases provide the gimbal structure for increased off boresite capability (look angle), faster response time due to reduced inertia, low swept volume and low cost based on the simplicity of the structure.

  • Patent number: 3962973
Abstract: A time delay mechanism for projectiles utilizing angular acceleration to control the flow of a granular material. The angle of the path of the flow with respect to the radius vector is used to differentiate between constant angular velocity and angular acceleration. There are at least three modes in which this capability can be utilized in a projectile: (1) inert material may be moved from an initial location to provide "unlatching" action, (2) active or high energy material may be moved from one location to a second location for utilization at the second location, or (3) inert material may be moved from a location such as a firing chamber where it provides "safing" action and, simultaneously, active material may be moved into the chamber.
