  • Patent number: 4469195
Abstract: The safety attachment includes a flat strap base member and a clamp thereon to detachably mount it on the top rung of a ladder. A pair of curved horns are pivoted on the ends of the base member, the horns being curved to fit around the tree against which the ladder is put, and with teeth on their concave sides to bite into the tree. The horns have diverging extensions at their outer or swinging ends which act as camming elements in applying the attachment to the tree. A chain interconnects the horns, which rests against the tree, and a tension spring also interconnects the horns. The horns have inner extensions extending oppositely beyond the pivot axes, and a pull rope interconnects these extensions and reaches the ground, which the user can pull for swinging the horns away from each other and releasing them from the tree.

  • Patent number: 4442622
Abstract: A plug having hooks in its interior, mounted for swinging movements between a collapsed or inactive position in the interior and an extended or active position on the exterior. The hooks are normally held in collapsed position by a spring, and when a fish bites and pulls the line produces a reaction on the hooks and forces them outwardly to active position. The hooks are nearly hidden, or effectively hidden, when in a collapsed position, and the plug appears generally smooth, but is provided with flexible fins.

  • Patent number: 4240225
Abstract: An integral piece for applying to a sharp corner element such as on a window frame, having a base with a recess in its under surface with flanges or ribs on two contiguous sides. Rising from the base is a rounded boss, symmetrical on a diagonal line from the juncture of the flanges. When applied to the window frame, the flanges fit against the edges of the frame forming the sharp corner, and the boss extends both up from the base and generally toward the corner. The symmetry of the guard enables it to fit either corner of the window frame, i.e., either right or left. The guard is held in place alternatively by an adhesive material, or mechanical means such as a screw.
