  • Patent number: 10822132
Abstract: A tax stamping machine includes an input system that transfers incoming cartons of cigarettes into a conveyor. The input station positions the upper surfaces of the cartons at a predefined height, and the conveyor retains the cartons at the predefined height as the cartons pass through the stamp applicating device. The stamp applicating device includes an opening station, a stamping station, and a closing station. The conveyor includes resilient pulleys that hold the cartons at a predefined height as the cartons move through the opening station, the stamping station, and the closing station such that the upper surfaces of the individual packs of cigarettes are always at the same predefined height regardless of the size of the cartons entering the machine.

  • Patent number: 10406720
Abstract: An apparatus for pre-processing logs to separate outer jacket fibers, comprising a plurality of spaced apart rollers through which a log can pass, each roller having at least one outwardly extending concentric projection, the projection being suitable to separate fibers. A pressure mechanism determines the diameter of the log so that the rollers can provide the appropriate amount of pressure to and engagement of the projections with the log. A feeding mechanism moves the log along a flow path past the rollers.

  • Patent number: 10169929
Abstract: A system for operating a fleet of off-road vehicles may include a network. A plurality of sensors operatively associated with the fleet of off-road vehicles and connected to the network sense information related to the operation of a plurality of off-road vehicle systems. A processing system operatively connected to the network collects sensor data from the off-road vehicles; combines sensor data from the vehicle systems in accordance with a user-defined event; determines whether the collected and combined sensor data are inside or outside defined limits of the user-defined event; produces an alarm signal for a user when the collected and combined sensor data are outside the defined limits of the user-defined event; and recommends modification of the operation of vehicles for which an alarm signal has been produced. A display system operatively associated with the processing system displays at least information relating to the recommended modification.

  • Patent number: 10046478
Abstract: A method for densifying a fibrous mat, such as scrim, to achieve a uniform mat density, including a set of parallel bars each having a row of pins extending downward therefrom which can engage the mat fibers, a plurality of shafts along which the bars slide so as to maintain the bars parallel, a plurality of extendable accordion linkages connecting the set of bars, and a linear positioning assembly having a reciprocating drive mechanism coupled to one of the bars which can move the bars in response to an actuation signal. As the drive mechanism retracts the bar to which it is coupled the spacing between the rows of bars is decreased uniformly and the rows of pins draw the fibers together and compress them uniformly across the width of the mat.

  • Patent number: 9999970
Abstract: A telescoping handle device may include an outer housing which may be slidably coupled to a shaft. The outer housing may have an elongated side wall, and the side wall may terminate in a first end and a second end. A cavity may be formed within the side wall, and the cavity may include a key channel and a lock groove. The shaft may be movable within the cavity, and the shaft may have an upper end and a lower end. A shaft key may be coupled to the shaft, and the shaft key may be slidably engaged within the key channel so that the shaft key is slidable between the first end and the second end. The shaft key may be rotatable out of the key channel and into the lock groove to prevent the shaft key from being slidable between the first end and the second end.
