  • Publication number: 20070196603
Abstract: A film laminated folding carton and method of forming such carton utilizes an offset printing technique to create graphic images displayed by the carton. Initially, a continuous roll of lamination film is provided and drawn through an offset printing station that prints a graphic image on at least a first surface of the lamination film. After the graphic image has been applied to the lamination film, the printed lamination film is accumulated on a transfer roll. The accumulated printed lamination film is laminated to a continuous strip of base material. Once the printed lamination film and the base material are laminated together to form a carton stock, the carton stock can be die cut to create a series of carton blanks, each of which can be formed into a film laminated folding carton.

  • Publication number: 20050087663
Abstract: An elongated edge protector is for protecting an edge or corner of an article. The edge protector includes a plurality of paperboard plies laminated together and formed into a rigid substantially right angled member. The right angled member has a pair of transversely oriented legs joined at an apex, each of the apex and the legs having inside and outside faces. A layer of plastic laminate is adhered to the outside faces of the legs, and preferably overwraps the edges of the right angled member, such that the laminate is adhered to both inside and outside faces of the legs. In a preferred embodiment, a paper label is laminated to the outside faces of the legs, wherein the layer of plastic laminate is adhered to the paper label.

  • Publication number: 20040251156
Abstract: An endboard for supporting a roll of material is provided. The endboard consists of a substantially rigid member that is sized and shaped to receive and support the roll of material. The endboard is molded from a mixture of plastic and sawdust. The combination of plastic and sawdust provides improved loading bearing strength and allows for support of heavy rolls of material without requiring the roll to support itself on its face. The endboard design thus prevents damage to the rolled material stored in horizontal fashion. In a preferred embodiment, the endboard has a series of elongated substantially parallel recessed portions that are vertically aligned and at least partially define vertical ribbed portions. The recessed portions and ribbed portions thus reduce the amount of material needed for construction of the endboards, while maintaining the structural integrity thereof.
