In one embodiment, it provides a sealable apparatus that has a component and a seal device. The component has a seal contact area for receiving the seal device. The seal contact area comprises a metallic surface with randomly distributed micro-pits that are capable of sealably mating with the seal device when the seal contact area is operably mated to the seal device.

    Abstract: The present invention provides an improved finishing process and apparatus. In one embodiment, a method and apparatus are provided for finishing a metal article. The method includes cavitationally eroding the metal article to form pits in its external surface. The metal article is also corroded with a corrosion chemical to corrode the pitted metallic surface. In this manner, substantially homogeneously distributed micro-pits can be formed about the article to create a desired matte finish, as well as a surface that is amenable for sealing. In a preferred embodiment, the corrosion chemical is part of a finishing bath that is ultrasonically cavitated for eroding the metal article.

    Abstract: A detachable dolly for moving heavy electronic equipment employs a mounting bracket and a wheel assembly, the mounting bracket having a support plate and a mating flange. The mounting bracket is secured to the equipment by the support plate, having at least one lifting dowel, and at least one mounting bolt. The wheel assembly has a wheel mounted within a wheel bracket and a rotation adjustment mechanism for raising and lowering the wheel and is detachably engaged with the mating flange on the mounting bracket by the use of a mating member. The mating member is movably coupled with the adjustment assembly such that when the mating member is engaged with the mating flange, rotation of the adjustment assembly serves to vertically raise or lower the equipment.
