  • Publication number: 20100038007
Abstract: Methods are disclosed for making surface overlays, structures, and structural components. The method comprises an optional step of preparing the surface, an optional step of making an exterior construction form, cutting grating materials to fit, making encapsulated panels from the grating materials, an optional step of making an interior construction form, disposing the encapsulated panels in the desired position, mixing aggregate blend, adding aggregate blend to the encapsulated panels or grating structure, an optional step of curing the aggregate blend, and optional finishing procedures.

  • Patent number: 5972468
Abstract: The present invention is directed to composites and multi-composites of a prefabricated core of a cellulosic honey comb filled with a rigid polyurethane and layers of fiber saturated thermoset resins. More specifically, the present invention is directed to composites and multi-composites of a cellulosic honey comb filled with rigid polyurethane prefabricated core and a fiber reinforced material, either fibers or woven fibers selected from the group consisting of glass, polyester, carbon and aramid fibers as a mat or cloth saturated with a thermoset resin selected from the group consisting of catalyzed polyester, amine catalyzed epoxy, catalyzed vinyl ester and acid catalyzed furan resins.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 16, 1998
Date of Patent: October 26, 1999
    Assignee: Welch-Sluder IP Partners

  • Patent number: 5611974
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method for preparing or repairing a machine foundation by using a hollow form which surrounds vertically extending reinforcement rods and is filled with a fortifying material to secure the hollow form to a slab. The form is preferably made of an aggregate filled thermosetting resin or a thermoplastic resin which are corrosion and chemical resistant materials free from fluid attack such as the liquids in the machine, for example, in a pump the fluids being either the lubricating fluids or the fluids being pumped. More particularly, the present invention is directed to a hollow form which may be used either to prepare a machine foundation or to repair a degraded slab or foundation and preferably is a single form.

  • Patent number: 5419529
Abstract: The present invention is directed to reusable molds which are used to mold various pieces including a modular contained machine foundation unit. Most pieces are molded as a hollow form which surrounds vertically extending reinforcement rods and is filled with a fortifying material to secure the hollow form to a slab. The hollow form is preferably made of an aggregate filled thermosetting resin which is a corrosion and chemical resistant material.

  • Patent number: 5240223
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a reuseable mold for casting a hollow form made of an aggregate filled thermosetting resin. The reuseable mold includes an outer mold, made from sheets of thermoplastic resin, and an inner mold, also made from sheets of thermoplastic resin, having a base with plugable opening(s) for connecting an air supply for popping the inner mold from the cast hollow form fabricated in the reuseable mold. The sheets are preferably 1" sheets of polyethylene.

  • Patent number: 5165651
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a hollow form which is to be used as a machine foundation. The form is made of an aggregate filled thermosetting resin or a thermoplastic resin which are corrosion and chemical resistant materials free from fluid attack such as the liquids used in the machine, for example, in a pump either the lubricating fluids or the fluids being pumped. More particularly, the present invention is directed to a hollow form which may be used either to prepare a machine foundation or to repair a degraded slab or foundation and preferably is a single form. The preferred form has vertical walls and a single, top horizontal wall through which polymeric concrete can be poured to fill the form. An alternative form may be made of two pieces.
