  • Patent number: 5529006
Abstract: A garment is clamped against a frame-like feed plate of a computer controlled sewing machine by a clamping frame defining a set of openings of different sizes, and corresponding different size emblems or other patches are held against the garment within the openings by a corresponding set of clamping pads. Stitching gaps are defined within the openings around the pads, and the pads are supported within the openings by corresponding laterally projecting U-shaped inversion arms. The arms carry corresponding pinions which engage a rack operated by a fluid cylinder to provide for simultaneously rotating the inversion arms in opposite directions through 180.degree. to provide for automatically and successively stitching the patches to the garment completely around each clamping pad.

  • Patent number: 4846850
Abstract: In an absorption process utilizing a feed gas compressor, the absorption pressure is maximized within the constraints of the system by a computer controller that automatically increases the pressure until a constraint for compressor speed or absorption pressure is encountered. The control action coordinately manipulates compressor speed and the absorption pressure in response to the actual compressor suction pressure to achieve the desired result.

  • Patent number: 4806836
Abstract: A tuning adjustment for a PI controller is disclosed which produces a desired response for a controlled variable in a selective control loop having an external reset feedback signal for anti-reset-windup protection. The desired control effect is evident in the time response of the controlled variables return to set point when a select switches signals and suddenly selects an output limited PI controller to control a process variable, and the selected controller assumes control of the process variable starting with its output at the limiting value. The tuning adjustment is implemented by combining the signal selected for controlling the process variable and a tuning factor for use as the reset feedback signal for the PI controller.

  • Patent number: 4619901
Abstract: A desired unreacted monomer concentration is maintained in the reaction effluent removed from a polymerization reactor by manipulating the catalyst feed rate to the polymerization reactor based on a non-linear control signal derived from a comparison of actual and desired unreacted monomer concentration.
