  • Publication number: 20060148942
Abstract: One aspect of the invention is directed to a rubber cure system that includes: an amine-free accelerator; a bismaleimide; and an alkylphenol disulfide. Another aspect of the invention is directed to a rubber composition including: at least one sulfur-vulcanizable elastomer containing olefinic unsaturation; an amine-free accelerator; a bismaleimide; and an alkylphenol disulfide. In a further aspect, the invention includes a rubber composition in the form of a product. If desired, the product may include a reinforcing cord comprising a polyester. Examples of products of the invention include a tire ply, a tire belt, a tire overlay, a pneumatic tire, an airspring, a conveyor belt, a hose, and a power transmission belt.

  • Publication number: 20050164027
Abstract: Method of producing a profiled abradable coating on a substrate in which an abradable ceramic coating composition is applied to a substrate using direct-write technology, or plasma sprayed onto the substrate through a mask or by use of a narrow foot-print plasma gun. These methods of producing abradable coatings are performed in the absence of a grid.

  • Publication number: 20050087275
Abstract: This invention relates to a pneumatic rubber tire which contains at least one electrically conductive cord extending between its bead portion and its tread portion to provide a path of least electrical resistance. The electrically conductive cord is comprised of at least one electrically conductive metal filament spirally wound around a centrally disposed core of at least one organic fiber. The electrically conductive cord extends from a rubber component in a bead portion of the tire which is relatively electrically conductive to a rubber component in the tread portion of the tire which is relatively electrically conductive in a manner that said electrically conductive cord does not extend to, and therefore is exclusive of, an outer surface of the tire. An electrically conductive path is thereby provided between a mounting surface of the tire in its bead region to a running surface of the tire tread.

  • Publication number: 20050003172
Abstract: A method of applying a profiled abradable coating onto a substrate in which an abradable ceramic coating composition is applied to a metal substrate using one or more coating application techniques to produce a defined ceramic pattern without requiring a separate web or grid to be brazed onto the substrate. The invention is particularly designed to withstand the higher operating temperatures encountered with the stage 1 section of 7FA+e gas turbines to allow for increased coating life without significant deterioration in structural or functional integrity. Typically, the grid pattern coating begins approximately 0.431? after the leading edge of the shroud, and ends approximately 1.60? before the trailing edge of the shroud. In the case of diamond-shaped patterns, the grid pattern will be about 0.28? long and 0.28? wide, with an overall thickness of about 0.46.

  • Patent number: 6587896
Abstract: A memory bus impedance matching module is inserted in each empty memory expansion socket on a computer memory bus to provide a constant impedance on the bus. Impedance devices, such as non-functional memory devices, are mounted on the module housing and coupled to standard bus communication line connections on the module housing. The modules are placed on the memory bus to prevent communication errors without needing to fill each expansion socket with real memory.

  • Patent number: 5964913
Abstract: The invention relates to a single phase vitreous material and to its production from a melt of a glass-forming multi-component feed mix. The process includes the preparation of a single phase melt in which there are mobile cations from a glass forming feed mix. The melt in passed in contacting relationship with and sequentially between devices made of low electrical resistance material from device to device. These devices are in and complete with the melt and a direct current voltage source an electric circuit. A voltage is regulated in the electrical circuit so that a direct electrical current is created in it and the concentration of the mobile cations in the melt is lowered thereby with reduction on the cathode of the metals of the same kind as the mobile cations. The melt, lowered concentration of the mobile cations, is cooled to produce the material as a structural article. In another embodiment, the anode is separated from the melt by a medium which is substantially inert with respect to the melt.
