Publication number: 20240075760Abstract: A crafting apparatus (10) includes a working portion (22) and a base portion (20). The working portion (22) includes a lower surface (32) and an upper surface (34). The upper surface (34) defines a working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (X-Y-Z). The base portion (20) includes a lower surface (24) and an upper surface (26). The lower surface (32) of the working portion (22) is disposed adjacent to the upper surface (26) of the base portion (20). The lower surface (24) defines a non-working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (XS-YS-ZS). The upper surface (34) of the working portion (22) extends relative to the lower surface (24) of the base portion (20) at an angle (?22) for angularly-offsetting the working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (X-Y-Z) from the non-working three dimensional Cartesian coordinate system (XS-YS-ZS). Methods (200, 300) are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 27, 2022Publication date: March 7, 2024Applicant: Cricut, Inc.Inventors: John Barrus CHRISTENSEN, Bryan Fred Bihlmaier, Donald Christopher Sutton, John Douglas Dalton, Ryun Bates Noble, Kyle Kenneth Johnson, Grayson Stopp, Bayden Filleul, Kurt Stalsberg, James Lynch, Norman Stevenson

Publication number: 20230340705Abstract: A hemp pad comprises first and second opposite exterior faces; a periphery interconnecting the exterior faces; and a body defining the first and second exterior faces and essentially comprising bast fibre. Bast fibre comprises a plurality of fibril bundles, each bundle including fibrils and polymeric binder material holding the fibrils together. The polymeric binder material comprises at least one of lignin, pectin, hemicellulose and cellulose. The fibrils of each bundle are separated from each other along portions of lengths thereof. The fibril bundles are joined together to form the body by cohesion of the polymeric binder material. Opening within individual fibril bundles and attachment of different bundles to one another to form a body of hemp fibre is a result of heat treatment to degrade the polymeric binder material. A related method for processing hemp for use as an absorption pad is also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 11, 2023Publication date: October 26, 2023Inventor: LYALL DONALD BATES

Patent number: 9674575Abstract: The system and method for streaming media to a viewer and managing the media comprises an enhanced service routing processor (ESRP), a real time switch management system (RTSMS), a name routing processor (NRP), and a managed media switch (MMS). The RTSMS has a reservation system. The ESRP receives media from an owner, manages the media according to media rules and order rules defined by the owner, and distributes the media to one or more switches, such as the MMS, according to the media rules and the order rules. The RTSMS is configured to receive the media rules and to receive a viewer's media request via the reservation server. The reservation system of the RTSMS processes the media request according to the media rules and builds a reservation for the requested media. The RTSMS generates the reservation to the viewer and to the NRP. The NRP receives the reservation data from the viewer and from the RTSMS. The NRP processes the reservation data and locates an MMS that can stream the media to the viewer.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 2007Date of Patent: June 6, 2017Assignee: SITO Mobile R&D IP, LLCInventors: Chuck Jennings, Donald Bate

Patent number: 5090472Abstract: A casting nozzle is first arranged in a melt of the beryllium copper alloy in a mold. This casting nozzle has a flow rate-regulating mechanism which is arranged in the melt in the mold and capable of regulating the flow rate of the melt to be poured into the mold. The nozzle is opened in the melt inside the mold. A melt is poured into the mold through the nozzle, and continuously cast in a casting temperature range from a liquidus temperature of the beryllium copper alloy to a temperature higher than the liquidus temperature by 50.degree. C. Thereby, the beryllium copper alloy having a crystalline structure consisting essentially of isometric crystals can be obtained.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 1991Date of Patent: February 25, 1992Assignees: NGK Insulators, Ltd., NGK Metals CorporationInventors: Munenori Uchida, Donald A.
