  • Patent number: 5449868
Abstract: The invention discloses a vacuum contactor assembly for controlling current flow in a single or multi-phase electrical circuit wherein each phase of the electrical circuit is controlled by a single vacuum interrupter. The stem pressure or pressure exerted on the electrical contacts of each vacuum interrupter during and after closing may be individually adjusted to an optimum operating pressure. The individual interrupter stem pressure adjustment is accomplished by placing a spring and an adjustment nut on the stem screw between the operating arm and the interrupter stem. By adjusting the free length of the spring with the adjusting nut, the interrupter stem pressure may be controlled.

  • Patent number: 5164695
Abstract: The interlocked contactor includes an interlock mechanism which selectively prevents closure of contactor contacts before a preselected number of operations of the contactor. An armature actuator is connected to the armature to cause a slider bar portion of the interlock mechanism to translate between an interlock open and interlock closed position corresponding to the contact open and contact closed positions. The interlock mechanism is generally mounted to a detachable mounting base which is mounted to a contactor frame. The slider bar is positionally maintained before failure of the assembly by a pair of roller carrying studs, one of which is designed to shear before the predetermined number of contactor operations. An arresting base is pivotally mounted for movement about one of the studs providing adjustable alignment with the slider bar. An adjustment shaft determines the degree of clearance between an interlock tab on the arresting base and an arresting notch on the slider bar.

  • Patent number: 4839477
Abstract: The inventions solves the problem of convenient mounting of parts of controllers, and solves the problem of interchangeability of vacuum and air break contactors within a controller. A controller has a housing, an isolation switch mounted within the housing, a contactor mounted within the housing and connected electrically downstream from the isolation switch, and the controller has a receptacle which can accept either a vacuum contactor or an air break contactor. Also, the contactor has an operating coil and control components mounted on a side facing a door of the housing so that the coil can be replaced and the control components serviced without disturbing the contactor.

  • Patent number: 4797516
Abstract: An electric switch has a first molding for supporting an isolation switch and at least one line side power fuse clip, where the line fuse clip is capable of retaining a first end of a power fuse fed by the isolation switch. A second molding for supporting at least one load side power fuse clip is provided, where the load fuse clip is capable of retaining a second end of the power fuse. At least one projection is formed into the second molding for supporting a control circuit fuse, where the projection is substantially parallel to and beside an installed power fuse, and a control circuit line side fuse clip and a corresponding load side clip is mounted to each of the projections formed into the second molding, so that installed control and power fuses are spaced apart and substantially parallel. A conductor behind a terminal of the power fuse connects the load side power fuse clip to the control circuit line side fuse clip.
