  • Publication number: 20140117102
Abstract: A system for automatically monitoring, regulating, and removing contaminants from a structure housing a body of liquid and for introducing the proper amount of outside air to maintain a negative pressure in the structure. The invention comprises a sensor for monitoring contaminants, a port assembly connected to at least one conduit, a controller to receive input from the sensor, a controller programmed to regulate environmental conditions of the structure at a predetermined level correlating to desired air quality in the structure, at least one exhaust fan, a climate control system, a cold plasma ionization system, a control signal from the controller for regulating the introduced outside air into the structure and for advancing fresh air into the structure, and a fresh air damper or fan.

  • Publication number: 20100258206
Abstract: The invention relates in one embodiment to an extension for a sump assembly covering a main drain of a swimming pool or spa that prevents suction entrapment. More specifically, the invention relates to a sump extension having a frame, a plate defining a plurality of openings and positioned on the frame, a removable cross channel extending across the upper end of the frame, and a cover plate positioned on the frame substantially adjacent to the plate. In another embodiment the invention relates to a sump assembly for a main drain of a swimming pool or spa, and more specifically, to a sump assembly having a sump, a conduit passing through the sump, a frame, a plate defining openings and positioned on the frame, a removable cross channel extending across the upper end of the frame, and a cover plate positioned on the frame substantially adjacent to the plate.

  • Publication number: 20100050335
Abstract: The invention relates to a cover and sump assembly for a main drain of a pool or spa that prevents suction entrapment, and specifically, to an assembly having a frame with openings, plates with openings positioned on the frame, and a sump for collecting water and receiving the frame. The assembly reduces the velocity of water flowing there through, uniformly distributes a suction force created by water flowing into the sump, prevents a vortex of flowing water above the assembly, and provides anti-entanglement features to minimize the likelihood of an individual becoming entrapped on the assembly by a suction force produced by a pump in the pool or spa filtering system. The assembly includes a conduit defining an opening along a lower portion thereof that reduces the velocity of flowing water at the suction opening in the sump by reorienting the suction port from a vertical to a horizontal orientation.

  • Patent number: 4103561
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing shock loads to an operator of a vehicle during turning movement is disclosed herein. The method consists of increasing the mass of an actuator connected to a control element which controls flow of hydraulic fluid to a fluid motor that produces turning movement for the vehicle. The increased mass is spaced from the fixed rotational axis for the actuator which results in an increased moment of inertia for the actuator that resists acceleration and deceleration of the actuator thereby resisting rapid changes in turning movements for the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 3976156
Abstract: A vehicle having a material handling unit suspended on the rear end thereof is disclosed herein. The vehicle has a pair of drive wheels adjacent the rear end and a pair of steering wheels supported on an axle that extends transversely of the body at the forward end and is pivotally connected to the body for pivotal movement about a vertical plane. A single shock absorber is interposed between the axle and the body to maintain one steering wheel in ground engaging contact during oscillatory movement of the body about the axis for the drive wheels.
