  • Patent number: 6926492
Abstract: A pump of the rotor/stator type for wet cementitious material includes a suction housing for receiving and directing the material into a rotor/stator combination for delivery to the location of use. The suction housing is in the form of a rectangular closed structure having a material receiving flange and enclosing coupling between a drive shaft and an end of a rotor. The housing includes top, bottom and side panels, one of which includes the aforementioned material receiving flange. Each of the panels is easily removed from the suction housing to facilitate cleaning and removal of material residue after use, as well as maintenance and repair of the pump. Cementitious material may be introduced through either the top, bottom or either of the side panels by appropriate positioning of the material receiving flange. The pump further includes a lubricant reservoir for lubricating the drive shaft to extend pump operating lifetime.

  • Patent number: 5507630
Abstract: A dual inline double acting plunger arrangement is particularly adapted for pumping thick slurries and includes a hollow cylinder divided into two closed chambers by a partition. A first plunger is disposed in a first chamber and a second plunger is disposed in a second chamber with the two plungers coupled together by appropriate linkage outside of the cylinder. A drive mechanism connected to the coupling linkage simultaneously displaces the two plungers in a reciprocating manner within the two chambers. Inlet and outlet ports in each of the chambers coupled to inlet and outlet valve assemblies allow for the pumping of a slurry from the chambers by the two plungers in an alternating manner. Each valve assembly includes a housing having a pair of ball valves which are both employed either as inlet valves or outlet valves, as the valve assembly may be configured to perform both functions.

  • Patent number: 5429193
Abstract: A durable, economical, easy-to-repair device for elevating liquid through a well in a landfill or other geological site, comprising a casing for channeling liquid having inlet and outlet openings at either end, a removable, valve-containing piston assembly for elevating liquid toward the outlet, and a second, stationary valve. Means are provided to remove the stationary valve along with the piston valve. The device preferably includes an actuator for driving the piston assembly and a liner to protect the casing. Also, a method of installing and using a device for elevating liquid through a well in a landfill or other geological site, comprising the steps of inserting a casing for channeling liquid into the geological site; inserting a stationary valve into the casing; inserting into the casing a removable, valve-containing piston for elevating liquid; and reciprocally raising and lowering the piston to elevate liquid from below the surface of the geological site through the casing toward the surface.
