  • Patent number: 5618008
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing toilet tissue and at least one other product includes a top wall and two opposing side walls connected together to form a housing. The apparatus is readily attachable to ordinary toilet tissue roll holders using a spindle of the roll holder and without the need for adhesives. The apparatus receives at least one roll of toilet tissue by a spindle or by other known hardware. The top wall is adapted for holding additional products.

  • Patent number: 5277375
Abstract: Disclosed is a spindle for use with compressed core wound paper products such as toilet tissue and paper towels. One end of the spindle is generally circular and adapted to fit onto a conventional dispenser. The second end of the spindle also adapted to fit onto a conventional dispenser and is wedge-shaped for inserting into the core of a compressed core wound paper product and has an edge which is generally orthogonal the longitudinal axis of the spindle. The second end of the spindle may comprise another edge, which is not encountered until the spindle is partially inserted into the compressed core wound paper product. The second edge allows for expansion of the compressed core wound paper product to a generally circular cross section.

  • Patent number: 5255865
Abstract: A core for compressed core wound paper products adapted for rotation on a spindle. The core is deformable from a generally rounded configuration to a generally flattened configuration for transportation and storage. The core includes tab portions that are deformable to extend radially inward of core inner and outer surfaces to reduce core to spindle clearance when the core is rounded for use.

  • Patent number: 5027582
Abstract: A compact, low shipping volume paper product comprising a compression loaded, core-wound roll of paper and a compression constraining element; and concomitant method of making such a paper product. The roll comprises a length of paper which is wound on a tubular core, and which roll may have an obround or parallelopipedal shape due to being unidirectionally compressively loaded after winding; and then constrained against expanding by a suitable constraining element. Preferably, the roll is sufficiently compressively loaded to completely flatten the core. In another aspect of the invention, the roll may be further compressed by applying a compressive loading that is substantially greater than that needed to cause the core to become flat; and, some of that high compressive loading may be relieved before the constraining element is applied or secured.

  • Patent number: 4623074
Abstract: A dual dispensing mode carton for, for example, a stack of interfolded sheets of facial tissue. The carton has a dispensing opening which is configured and disposed to enable substantially droop-free pop-up dispensing of one sheet at a time with improved sheet to sheet stand-up height uniformity as successive sheets are withdrawn from the carton; and group mode dispensing of a plurality of sheets simultaneously without having to disassociate them from each other. A dispensing package is also provided which comprises such a dispensing carton having a stack of interfolded sheets disposed therein.
