  • Patent number: 4308921
Abstract: A track obliterating device is disclosed that is particularly useful for obliterating the tracks on the ground made by a chemical applicator wagon. The device includes a mounting frame upon which a plurality of ground engageable track obliterating elements are mounted. The track obliterating elements are preferably coil spring teeth that are mounted on the mounting frame so as to be substantially aligned with the wheels of an applicator wagon so that the tracks made by such wheels are obliterated as the device is pulled in a forwardly direction behind the applicator wagon. The mounting frame is adapted to be attached to an applicator wagon or the like by a hitch that is pivotally mounted to the mounting frame so that the mounting frame can pivot about a vertical axis.

  • Patent number: 4168504
Abstract: A prime focus multimode feed horn is used to illuminate a parabolic reflector such that the reflector-horn combination produces improved performance in the E-plane and H-plane of a principal aperture. A feed assembly which includes the multimode horn also has a hub assembly that is incorporated into the reflector with support structure, a boom, supporting interconnecting waveguides and the multimode dual frequency horn. Directly coupling the horn to the feed assembly is an orthomode generator connected to a receive waveguide and a transmit waveguide. The orthomode generator is assembled to a horn body waveguide that supports a horn aperture having a circular configured principal aperture surrounded by radially displaced circular rings forming concentric channels for modification of the E-plane receive pattern.

  • Patent number: 4140363
Abstract: Apparatus for searching a large field of view to detect a modulated optical signal source utilizing an optical detector having a field of view capability less than the total field of view sought to be searched. A constant drive motor is coupled to a geneva five slot single pin mechanism which is fixed to a drum rotably mounted to a housing. A detector and associated focusing optics are positioned at the bottom of the housing with a housing window positioned on one side of the housing. Five reflective surfaces are positioned around the circumference of the drum so that the geneva mechanism intermittently rotates the drum to sequentially position each reflective surface to reflect optical energy passing through the housing window to the detector apparatus. The reflective surfaces are positioned at the varying angles around the drum so that different segments of the total field of view sought to be searched are sequentially interrogated.

  • Patent number: 4130295
Abstract: A hitch assembly is disclosed that is particularly useful for a farm tractor to pull ancillary farm equipment, such as ammonia applicators, across a field to be treated during a farming operation. The hitch assembly is connected to the front of the tractor and has struts that extend outwardly in opposite directions therefrom with the ancillary equipment being connected to the outer ends of the struts so that the ancillary equipment is maintained outwardly from the tractor as the tractor pulls such equipment by movement in a forward direction. The struts have inner and outer portions with the outer portion being hinged to the inner portion whereby the outer portion can be pivoted forwardly about a vertical axis so that the outer portion of the strut can be folded to a position where the outer end of the strut is contiguous to the mount utilized to mount the hitch assembly to the front of the tractor.

  • Patent number: 4079680
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for injecting fertilizer into the soil. A soil working device includes a sweep with a nose portion that moves through the soil as the sweep is moved forward, a pair of trailing sections that diverge from the nose portion, and an upstanding mounting portion for mounting the sweep to a shank extending from the frame of an agricultural implement. A pair of wings extend rearwardly from the trailing sections of the sweep so as to be at opposite sides of a channel formed by the sweep. Each wing has a front portion that flares outwardly from the trailing section of the sweep and a rear portion that is inclined inwardly from the back of the front portion. Fertilizer is injected into the channel formed by the sweep and soil engaged by the wings is urged toward the channel to cover the same and enhance fertilizer retention in the channel.

  • Patent number: 4068432
Abstract: A demountable partition wall is of studless construction and comprises ceiling and floor runners adapted to receive a pair of wall panels in spaced relation. The ceiling and floor runners include leg portions which frictionally receive the wall panels to provide a stable and sound deadening construction at the mounting ends of the panels. A stabilizing and sound dampening pad assembly is preferably located in the vertically intermediate regions of the wall. Doors and window units can be located as desired along the partition wall, with the window and door frames being adaptable to the ceiling and floor runners. The floor runner can be spaced above the floor or supporting surface by nails or the like thereby permitting the wall to be installed over carpeting without damaging the same.

  • Patent number: 3994549
Abstract: A modular flexible wall storage system comprised of a series of cabinets each of which is constructed to be readily adaptable to drawer or shelf storage, as desired by the purchaser. Vertical standards are mounted on the vertical walls of the cabinet and drawer or shelf supporting hardware is alternatively mounted on the standards to support the shelves or the drawers, with the hardware for the latter, and support means mounted on the drawers, permitting relatively frictionless sliding movement of the drawer inwardly and outwardly of the cabinet. Doors can be mounted on the cabinet quickly and easily and can be pivoted a full 180.degree. so as not to extend into the traffic area in front of the system when the doors are fully open. The cabinets are supported on a support assembly which includes leveling means permitting levelling of the support assembly prior to installation of the system thereby compensating for unevenness in the floor or other supporting surface on which the system is installed.

  • Patent number: 3990205
Abstract: A demountable partition assembly comprising a ceiling runner rigidly attached to an upper supporting surface and stabilizer means suspended from said ceiling runner, the stabilizer means receiving and providing lateral support to the upper portion of wall panels hung on the opposed sides of the stabilizer means. The partition assembly is supported at the bottom by support members which permit leveling of the members to be parallel to the ceiling runner, with the bottom surface of the walls being formed with grooves for engagement by tongues formed on finish base members attached to said support members.
