    Abstract: An article conveyor having live rollers forming an article conveying run and in which a continuous padded drive chain is operably mounted to have flexibility in a direction substantially parallel to the conveying run, and in which a first direction of article conveyance is provided with controllable pressure fluid lifters for zoning the first direction of conveyance to control the drive of articles approaching a standing article. In addition, controls are provided to render the conveyor reversible as to travel of articles.
