  • Patent number: 7552545
Abstract: A drying rack assembly, for use in a clothes dryer with a rotatable tumbler, is constructed with a perforated tray to support clothing in a stationary manner within the tumbler. A duct is attached to the perforated tray to direct a primary airflow through the perforated tray and to at least a portion of air outlet opening in the tumbler cavity. The duct further includes openings to provide a secondary path by which a portion of the total airflow is allowed to bypass the perforated tray. A movable damper is provided to allow variable bypass airflow. An air outlet cover, attached to the combination of the duct and perforated tray, is adapted to cover the portion of the air outlet opening that does not interface with the duct. The air outlet cover is movable to a second position to enable compact storage. A hanging feature is further provided on the side of the dryer cabinet to provide a convenient storage space.

  • Patent number: 7363781
Abstract: An improved front loading washing machine is provided with a front panel having a round access opening. A glass door is reversibly mounted on the front panel via a hinge. The hinge can be moved to the left or right side of the access opening by rotating a carriage ring which extends around the access opening and which supports the hinge. A door lock is provided on the carriage opposite the hinge. Accordingly, the door is reversible for opening on the left or right, as desired by a user.

  • Patent number: 7047770
Abstract: An apparatus, method and system of wash action control for an automatic washing machine. A manually operable user interface allows selection from between a plurality of discrete agitation speed selections which comprise at least a continuous speed agitation mode for a given agitation period during a wash cycle and an intermittent speed agitation mode for at least a part of a given agitation period. The intermittent speed agitation mode automatically varies agitation speed between at least two sub-periods of the given agitation period. The variation in agitation speed can be between a faster and a slower speed or a certain speed and no agitation.

  • Patent number: 6000248
Abstract: The door vent of the present invention includes an elongated tube mounted in a lower wall of the door of a horizontal axis washing machine, providing fluid communication between the interior chamber of the door and the interior of the tub, when the door is in a closed position. The tube projects upwardly within the door to form a standpipe, to prevent water from entering and becoming trapped within the door. A fine mesh screen is mounted in the vent to prevent suds from entering the door. A fan may be mounted to a compartment on the detergent receptacle on the washing machine housing, to draw air through the fluid dispensing system and out into the housing of the washing machine.

  • Patent number: 5890247
Abstract: A washing machine for automatically laundering articles of clothing by imparting mechanical actions upon the articles of clothing within a basket of the machine during a washing operation that includes a wash cycle and a preset number of rinse cycles incorporates a control system that functions to alter the mechanical actions imparted upon the articles of clothing during at least the wash cycle, and preferably both the wash cycle and at least one of the rinse cycles, and/or adds a supplemental rinse cycle to the overall washing operation in response to an indication of a high suds level condition in the machine. The control system receives signals indicative of an operating parameter of the washing machine, such as the input torque or operating speed of a motor of the machine, from a detection unit and utilizes these signals to determine the presence of high levels of suds and the need to transfer to a suds reduction mode of operation.

  • Patent number: 5118254
Abstract: A pump mount is provided for a dishwasher having a tub with an opening in the sump defined by a radially inwardly directed annular flange. A pump housing includes a plurality of ramp members spaced around its periphery and a seal is located between the pump housing and the flange for retaining washing fluid in the tub when the pump housing is assembled to the tub. A locking member is engageable with the pump housing ramp members for assembling the pump housing to the tub. In the preferred embodiment a locking member is rotatable relative to the pump for effecting axial movement of the pump housing relative to the tube to compress the seal and form a fluid tight joint.

  • Patent number: 4663538
Abstract: A control system is provided for controlling the operation of at least a pair of coin actuated appliances. A control panel area is provided which includes a coin drop mechanism, selection switches and indicators. A microcontroller is in circuit association with the coin drop mechanism, the selection switches and the indicators. The microcontroller is operable for accumulating the value of coins received and for effecting a display of the value in the indicators. Upon operation of a selection switch for a particular appliance by the appliance user, the microcontroller will effect operation of that appliance and the assignment of the displayed value to that appliance.

  • Patent number: 4134275
Abstract: An air conditioning unit having a housing providing support structure for supporting the unit on a relatively thin sheet metal roof of a bus or the like. The housing includes two opposed upright side panels which provide the support for the air conditioning components housed therein and which also in turn are supported on the bus roof, generally adjacent the sidewalls of the bus to utilize the greater load bearing capability of the roof in this vicinity. The housing is separated into an evaporator compartment and a condenser compartment by an internal bulkhead extending between and supported by the side panels. The unit includes a single condenser fan motor and a single evaporator fan motor which are each cantilevered from the bulkhead in their respective compartments to generally counterbalance one another while transferring their weight through the bulkhead to the sidewalls of the housing.
