  • Patent number: 12378919
Abstract: A sensor arrangement for a gas powered turbine includes at least one sensor disposed on a power extraction shaft and configured to output a measured power extraction of the power extraction shaft. A controller is in communication with the at least one sensor. The controller includes a memory and a processor. The memory stores instructions for causing the processor to respond to a received measured power extraction of the power extraction shaft by synthesizing an instantaneous engine power output and engine efficiency and adjusting at least one parameter of the engine based on the synthesized engine power output and engine efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20230045150
Abstract: An engine control device may comprise a processor and a memory. The engine control device may be configured to modify a fuel flow based on a density of the fuel proximate a fuel nozzle. The engine control device may include a densimeter embedded in, or disposed proximate, the engine control device. The engine control device may include a temperature sensor embedded in, or disposed proximate, the engine control device. The engine control device may be electrically coupled to a fuel valve and/or configured to modulate the fuel valve based on a density of the fuel at the fuel valve.

  • Publication number: 20080072604
Abstract: A balance pressure control is provided for flaps which pivot in a rear of a gas turbine engine nozzle to change the cross-sectional area of the nozzle. An actuator drives a sync ring to move the flaps through a linkage. A supply of pressurized air is also provided to the sync ring to assist the actuator in resisting forces from high pressure gases within the nozzle. When those forces are lower than normal the flow of air to the rear of the sync ring is reduced or blocked.

  • Patent number: 5195278
Abstract: A manually-controllable tool for abrading close spaces when preparing a surface for receipt of varnishes, paint and the like. In one embodiment of the abrading tool abrasive materials of different coarseness grades are fixedly attached to the respective ends of a stick handle. In another embodiment of the abrading tool abrasive material is selectively fed through a mechanical pencil device.
