    Abstract: An air conveying mechanism for transporting articles along a conveying surface is disclosed. The conveying surface includes a plurality of air jets in fluid flow relation with a plenum. An air accelerator hood is provided adjacent the entry point of the articles onto the conveyor to permit initial high speed acceleration of the articles along the conveying surface.
