  • Patent number: 4309924
Abstract: A wrench having an adjustable jaw on a neck slidably supported by a guide on a handle with segmental threads on at least one side of the neck. An adjusting nut is threaded on the neck and has segmental threads rotatably and drivingly engagable with the threads on the neck. The threads on the neck are axially slidable between the ends of the segmental threads on the nut in at least one rotated position of the nut. A U-shaped spring has spaced arms which springably engage the opposite axial faces of the nut to confine the nut therebetween. The spring has a connecting bight which is nonrotatably opposed to wrench handle. The arms of the spring defining openings through which slidably and nonrotatably pass the neck.

  • Patent number: 4224123
Abstract: In the method aspect of the invention, a tablet compressing tool having a concavity at its working end, is placed in a vertically aligned position with the concavity downward, contacted by an electrolyte at only the working tip thereof, and agitated by a circular movement in a horizontal plane while being subjected to a suitable DC current potential. The electrolyte may be conventional. One effective apparatus for practicing the above method comprises a suitable electrolyte containing tank having cathode means, such as a trough or channel-shaped electroconductive mesh, extending therethrough, and tool clamping means on the upper side of said tank arranged for holding a plurality of said tools aligned in a vertical position and extending into electrolyte within said tank. Said tool clamping means is mounted for circular movement in a horizontal plane and arranged with means including prime mover means for effecting such movement.

  • Patent number: 4168137
Abstract: Mechanism for applying radially directed compression pressure onto pharmaceutical materials in a tableting die. There is provided mechanism for association with an otherwise standard tableting machine by which a radially directed pressure is applied to the tableting materials, usually powders, within a tableting die in order to minimize the tendency for capping or delaminating in the finished tablet. A relatively heavy housing is introduced as a component portion of the strain rod which otherwise extends uninterruptedly from the top to the bottom of the machine adjacent the rotating die table at the portion of the travel thereof occupied by the compression rollers. Separate strain rod components are connected from the top of the machine to the top of said housing and from the bottom of said housing to the bottom of the machine so that the strain of a normal compression operation axially of a die is caused to pass through said housing.
