    Abstract: An apparatus for supporting and lifting a workpiece includes a base, an upwardly extending column fixed to the base, a screw rotatably mounted on the base parallel to the column, a motor operatively coupled to the screw for rotating the screw, and a carriage threadedly engaging the screw and slidably engaging the column. A variety of chucks or support mechanism for engaging various types of workpieces may be removably coupled to the carriage. The apparatus advantageously allows supporting and lifting at least a portion of a marine outboard motor.
