  • Patent number: 5463595
Abstract: A security system (10) suitable for use in monitoring property at an outdoor site that includes a portable housing (12) that supports a motion detector (14) for sensing motion within a detection zone. The security system further includes an ultrasonic transducer (74) and several alarm generators capable of repelling a human intruder, including a high intensity illumination source (18), high decibel siren (82), strobe light (19), and a speaker (78) for transmitting a prerecorded message. When an intrusion is initially detected by the motion detector, the ultrasonic transducer is activated to emit an ultrasonic signal that is irritating to nonhuman animals, thus clearing the detection zone of nonhuman intruders. If after sounding of the ultrasonic transducer motion is still detected, one or more of the alarms is activated. Additionally, an automatic telephone dialer (86) may be included in the system and activated by the system as another type of alarm, in response to detected intrusion.

  • Patent number: 4300819
Abstract: Improved eyeglasses for use by color blind individuals or viewers. The eyeglasses are constructed to have two lenses, one of which is clear and the other of which is colored. Each lens is formed to have a reflective or mirror surface as viewed from the front of the eyeglasses. When worn by a color blind viewer, the combination of lenses improves the color blind viewer's ability to discriminate between different colored objects while the reflective or mirror surfaces cause the lenses to appear to be identical to other persons or viewers.

  • Patent number: 3992654
Abstract: A set of circuit boards are mounted side by side and electrical connection is made to terminal pads disposed along one edge of each circuit board by connectors which are carried by swing arms. The swing arms rotatably mount to a wire duct and each pivots between a horizontal position and an upright operating position in which connection is made to the terminal pads on its associated circuit board. Wire terminals on the connector in each swing arm provide termination for wires in the wire duct.
