  • Patent number: 4274973
Abstract: The inclusion of neodecanoic acid in aqueous water-soluble soap lubricants reduces viscosity, and improves lubricity effectiveness.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 22, 1979
Date of Patent: June 23, 1981
    Assignee: The Diversey Corporation
Inventors: James H. Stanton, Donald F. Garvin
  • Patent number: 4174289
Abstract: There are disclosed liquid detergent-bleach concentrates of high alkalinity which are clear solutions having excellent long term stability at elevated temperatures and at low temperatures. The concentrate compositions consist essentially of an alkali metal hypochlorite, alkali metal chloride, an alkali metal salt of an alkylated diphenyl oxide sulfonic acid, and metal chelating agents in an aqueous composition having a high proportion of alkali metal hydroxide. The concentrates are useful upon dilution in forming hard surface cleaning compositions which are particularly useful in removal of oily soils, derived from animal and vegetable oils.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 28, 1978
Date of Patent: November 13, 1979
    Assignee: BASF Wyandotte Corporation
Inventors: Malachi E. Sorgenfrei, Donald F. Garvin
  • Patent number: 4153571
Abstract: Alkaline cleaning compositions are prepared by combining water, alkali metal hydroxide and certain surfactants which composition forms a gel when applied to a hot surface and a process for the easy removal of greasy soil from such surfaces.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 2, 1974
Date of Patent: May 8, 1979
    Assignee: BASF Wyandotte Corporation
Inventors: Donald F. Garvin, Otto T. Aepli
  • Patent number: 4099985
Abstract: Alkaline cleaning compositions are prepared by combining water, alkali metal hydroxide and certain surfactants which composition forms a gel when applied to a hot surface. These compositions are applied as a liquid to a hot surface to emulsify grease thereon. The surface is then allowed to cool sufficiently to cause the gelled composition thereon to revert to liquid form thereby facilitating its removal from the surface.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 15, 1977
Date of Patent: July 11, 1978
    Assignee: BASF Wyandotte Corporation
Inventors: Donald F. Garvin, Otto T. Aepli
