  • Patent number: 8539874
Abstract: A window cover for a vehicle that has an aperture located in place of a window. The window cover has upper and lower reflectors that are pivotally movable with respect to the window cover. The upper reflector is beneath an upper armored plate and the lower reflector is behind a lower armored plate. The reflectors are pivotally linked together. Slats are placed between the upper and lower reflectors that block a trajectory of a projectile from entering a window aperture over which the window cover protects. The slats are placed so as to be as optically thin as possible, meaning the edge thickness is all that will be seen across the reflectors.

  • Patent number: 8141472
Abstract: A window cover for a military vehicle which includes armored plates angled away from an underlying vehicle window with reflectors, one of the reflectors being pivotable. The window cover allows an occupant of the vehicle to view outside the vehicle window as light is reflected off a viewing reflector to a stationary reflector and toward an occupant of the vehicle. A filter is placed between the viewing and stationary reflectors to filter out a portion of light reflected. The filter may also provide a collimation function.

  • Patent number: 8056463
Abstract: A window cover for a military vehicle which includes both upper and lower armored plates angled away from an underlying vehicle window. An upper and lower reflector are placed so that light striking the upper reflector is reflected onto the lower reflector. One of the reflectors is pivotable. The window cover allows an occupant of the vehicle to view outside the vehicle window, as light is reflected off an upper reflector to a lower reflector and toward an occupant of the vehicle. A filter is placed between the upper and lower reflectors to filter out a portion of light reflected. The filter may also provide a collimation function.

  • Patent number: 7225718
Abstract: A window cover for a military vehicle which includes both upper and lower armored plates angled away from an underlying vehicle window, an upper reflector overlying the underside of the upper armored plate, and a lower reflector, penetrable by projectiles, positioned in front of the lower armored plate. The window cover allows an occupant of the vehicle to view outside the vehicle window, as light is reflected off the lower reflector onto the upper reflector and then toward the occupant.
